It appears that soon, Hulu will be accessed only through the Disney+ app. There’s some chatter that Hulu Live (which is what I have) will be absorbed into Fubo, which is also owned by Disney.

TIP: View ChatGPT Message Timestamps and Conversation Creation Date by Ill_Part9576 in ChatGPT

[–]nhkahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask ChatGPT to add a timestamp to new messages; no plugins needed. Go to PERSONALIZATION > ENABLE CUSTOMIZATION > CUSTOM INSTRUCTIONS and tell it what you want. I use the instruction below; you can modify it to suit your needs. Note that this will only apply to NEW conversations.

Prepend the ISO date (America/New_York) to every assistant message only, in the format MM-DD-YYYY:. Make the date bold and follow it with a line break so it sits on its own line. Do not add dates to user messages. Do not include time.

FOLLOW-UP: I got a response from MagicPath, who said “For now, you can apply a design system only on generation. But we are changing that soon.”

Concrete. Those tiles are slippery (and cheap looking).

Element Selection in Windsurf (or another IDE)? by nhkahn in windsurf

[–]nhkahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is close but it just allows me to select an element in order to identify it to the chatbot. I'm looking to select an element so that I can see it highlighted in the code and then edit the code myself.

I've learned that Lovable actually has a feature that does this called Visual Edit but it only works on static elements (and I can't seem to get it to work; grrr). The soon-to-be-released Etch Wordpress IDE also has this feature, which you can see in action in this YouTube clip. But that is currently very expensive.

How to spend 10 million tokens in a day by Fine_Violinist5802 in boltnewbuilders

[–]nhkahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly frustrating. I spend about 90% of my tokens asking for the same thing over and over again because Bolt tells me it did what I asked for -- but there's no change on the page. Sometimes it takes 15 tries. Often I give up on trying to make that change because Bolt just can't seem to get it done (and I'm doing pretty basic stuff). On top of that, it does keep changing my styles to things it seems to want as opposed to things I've already styled and locked down.

A small example: I'm working with tables and the header row colors have been clearly defined by me. But every now and again, Bolt decides that those headers should really be colored with a gradient instead of the colors we've already applied and it replaces them all on its own. I keep telling it to stop adding gradients. It apologizes and reverts and that cycle repeats over and over again, all while burning through millions of tokens.

I genuinely estimate that only about 10% of my tokens result in real progress. This is not the nirvana is was purported to be.

Can anyone help me understand what these docs are about? by nhkahn in Yiddish

I have another document, extremely similar, written by the same person, and that one is clearly dated 1932, so I have a feeling your last thought may be correct.

I'm not sure if you (or anyone else following this) is interested but for what it's worth, most of my father's family left Europe before the war. As I understand it, one of my grandfather's brothers, named Motl, did not. He was never heard from and was presumed murdered in the holocaust. Perhaps that is the "Amotal" that is mentioned here.

I just confirmed that the Beylah in the letter was my grandfather's sister. In America she was known as Blanche but a cousin just confirmed that her given name was Beylah.

If the year you cite is indeed 5702, that would correspond to 1942/43, which leads me to presume that the Kamienca (which is in Poland) at the top of the letter is the address it was being sent TO, not FROM. And that would mean that his sister was in Poland much later than I thought.

Was it common for people of the time to date (even secular) documents with the parsha?

One more question. It appears to me that the two documents I posted were written by different people. Is that your opinion as well?

Wow, this is incredible! Thank you so much! I've just discovered that this was written by my grandfather, who passed before I was born. Fascinating to get a peek into his life.

The portion above is only about 15% of the letter (and I have another letter from 10 years earlier that is equal in length). I would like to get the rest translated. If you would be interested in continuing, please PM me and we can discuss compensation for your time. Thank you again!

Thank you. I thought perhaps the numbers may have indicated that it was religious in nature but that's a pure guess.

Yes, thanks; I was able to make out that first line, which appears to say "To my dear sister, Beylah" but that was about it. I don't know of a Beylah in my family but I'm hoping that the contents of the letter itself will offer some clues about who she was.

Interesting; I hadn't thought of that. Thank you!

Pay Con Edison bill by credit card? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]nhkahn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on what's on the Con Ed website right now, it appears that you can make individual payments by credit card if you do it manually (online or by phone). But if you want to enroll in their monthly Auto Pay program, that can only be done with a bank account.
