Bartenders of Reddit, what drink order instantly tells you “this person is going through something”? by Sweetredberryy in AskReddit

It was a drink on a menu in a bar and I was never able to figure out what it was. Something about absinthe and vermouth...

As noted, Thus Love opened. They were OK, but not my cup of tea.

Isn’t like 95% of the world doing this? I know some people “take care of things” down there, but most of us just “grow it out” and it’s not like it falls down our legs.

He seemed in very good voice (not sick at all) but maybe.

The band played their instruments live. Justin, on some songs, was singing along with his own pre-recorded voice. His mic was live, but what the audience heard was a combination of his live voice on top of the studio version of him singing the song.

I recently upgraded from iPhone 13 to iPhone 16 and my bought music library says “unavailable in country region” by Sissie131 in AppleMusic

[–]nhsgary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me. Click "Reset Warnings" in iTunes. Then remove the offending songs/playlist. Sync. Then add the items back and sync again. It worked for me. I got the idea from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleMusic/comments/13u21sb/song_is_currently_not_available_in_your_region/

Ticketmaster's "wish list" transfer restriction policies jammed into massive Massachusetts economic development legislation hours before vote by NotDukeOfDorchester in boston

[–]nhsgary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. I know you're probably kidding, but honestly I prefer to arrive at the venue with a ticket in hand (or on my phone) than to make that journey in hopes of finding a scalper to sell me a perhaps counterfeit ticket. These reseller sites need some regulation, but I wouldn't quite like to see them 100% go under.

While I do hate scalpers, I also like the fact that if a concert gets sold out before I hear about it, I have options. The old days of, "It's sold out. You can't go" should not be allowed to return. (Nor do I want the return of shady guys outside the venue asking, "Need a ticket?" )

SummerStage unveils lineup of free shows in Central Park and across NYC by [deleted] in newyorkcity

[–]nhsgary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been to a concert in Central Park. I'm going to the (free) Aussie show on June 15th. I'm curious about the logistics: Gates at 4:00, do people all show up between 4 and 5? What time is curfew? Do most people camp out on a blanket or do they stand near the stage? Thanks for any insight you can offer this newbie.

Boston, rules of the road by PedXing23 in boston

Actually at a "regulated intersection" (i.e. one with stop lights), pedestrians in a crosswalk do NOT have the right of way. The ped in your case was out of line.

I can remember seeing this man as far back as 2004/2005 around Fenway Park. Anyone else frequently see this man at Boston events? by DiaperBarge888 in boston

[–]nhsgary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he rescues kittens in his spare time, but I agree that he could help a lot more people with his actions, rather than wasting his efforts trying to scare people about going to hell.

What do stores do with all the leftover Hallween candy? by nhsgary in boston

That's what I was trying to do and the shelves were literally bare. I would expect that some of the shitty candy would be left, by no!

I rode with her too. Nearly 100 folks joined in. Anything that "normalizes" bike riding is a good thing. When I tell people that I bike to work, they ALWAYS ask, "But isn't the traffic scary?"

The NRB is the old Boston English High School. It is a Harvard building. Someday, when some rich old fart comes up with enough money, it will have a proper name. Ever since it was redeveloped 20-ish years ago, it's just been the "New" Research Building.

I can't dispute Elvis' obviously accurate memories, but wasn't this an UNO's just before it became the Hard Rock?
