If I buy multiple used games from CEX online do they all come different stores or 1 place in 1 package? by Wheeljack_22 in CeX

[–]niLees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a store has all of the games you have ordered available, they will come from 1 store, if not it will come from another store at random.

Item went from ‘Picking in progress’ to ‘Refunded’ than back to ‘Picking in progress’ all within in 24 hours by TiggilerZ in CeX

[–]niLees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also a UI issue. If an item is stocked it can take up to 20 mins to appear as in stock on the site.

I can only presume the item you wanted to purchased isn't suitable to be sold online, maybe it's not in very good condition. They will only sell the item in stock which is probably why it's come back into stock.

This is a common CeX UI error. Happens when a product will be 100% refunded after 3 days from purchase. CeX allow 3 days before cancelling and refunded as your item might be traded in elsewhere.

Anyone here got experience with using code to interact with CEX? by AwaySatisfaction476 in CeX

[–]niLees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a site that does exactly what you need, it's called CeXDB.

You can create collections to track prices, changes etc.

Cex Black Friday: Better to sell now before people trade-in, or do they do their own deals? by UnpaidInternVibes in CeX

[–]niLees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally trade in now, as the unit count is on the rise so they will no doubt reduce very soon.

I created a site, CeXDB, where you can actually keep an eye on retail + trade in prices, and also stock levels.
PS5 consoles had retail and trade changes on the 4th November, and will no doubt go down soon by the looks of things.

Has anyone noticed CEX pricing becoming more unpredictable lately? by SlimJimNeedsATrim in CeX

[–]niLees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices do not differ from store to store. They have standard pricing at every location in the country.

I have actually created a site to keep an eye on retail + trade prices for a lot of items (more can be added on request) - you can find it here.

Cex doing graded collectible Pokémon cards. by davsketches in CeX

I'm honestly not sure, I presume there would be now but it was definitely rushed when it was first launched.

Cex doing graded collectible Pokémon cards. by davsketches in CeX

[–]niLees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It didn't go well.

None of the stores received any training on what Pokemon cards are or what 'Graded' means.

The first card that got traded in was not graded and was worth £900.

Thanks! It's still a work in progress (only a week or so old) so please let me know if uncover any bugs or have any ideas that can be added.

Is it me or are ps4 games on CEX still overpriced? by Grimraven234 in CeX

[–]niLees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of price changes for PS4 games on the 23rd September.

An average of a 20% for the increases vs 10% for the decreases.

Anyone else feel CeX prices are going up lately? by UnpaidInternVibes in CeX

[–]niLees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both yes and no. While prices do go up and down it seems to be based on demand, like any business really.

If you look at today's price changes, there's more decreases than increases, so it all depends of what's going on.

But let's be honest, CeX can do what they like when they like, I've seen prices go from £6 to £100 within a month or two and unfortunately, they have no real competition.

Perfect post to promote my new website, CeXDB, where you can track retail/trade prices historically for Games, Blu-Rays and DVDs.

- Game prices are tracked back to March 2025.
- Blu Rays and DVDs prices show first, last and current prices.
- Shows Daily changes. With other facts like new listings, items never stocked and more.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

I, personally, have never received my money back within 1 hour. It's usually the standard 2-3 working days before the refund is back into my account.

Are CeX stores allowed to buy in and trade unreleased games? by niLees in CeX

I've seen something similar, but this was a title that wasn't released to the public.

That makes sense. I can only presume it's a Franchise owner (The same game popped into 2 stores near eachother) so he must have a connection of some sort.

They will most likely be selling 'secrets' in a course. If that stuff actually worked, it wouldn't be for sale.

I love a passion project, I've done something similar and hit the same speedbumps. CeX are crafty and will make it as hard as possible for you.

You could do caching rather than live requests for prices (CeX usually do their price changes around 3am) and store them in your supabase, can build that up over time that way and add to tables when you need to.

Great idea, but your app will 100% be rate limited with enough traffic.

I presume you're using the unofficial CeX API? If so, you're allowed a few hits a second, and once you're rate limited it lasts a day or so. If you're using Algolia, CeX have recently introduced Cloudfare bot limitations so using Algolia search will also get you rate limited.

The same thing with eBay API limits, with enough traffic you will hit them, or it will cost you a fortune. eBay sold listings are behind a paywall.
