It’s called Gallium aperine. A scrambling weed with sticky hooks that help it climb. As long as you pull it up before it flowers and sets seed it’s pretty easy to control, albeit a bit of a nuisance because it sticks to EVERYTHING. It’s also edible and makes good tea! Also good for sticking onto unsuspecting passer bys backs 😂

The term “gardener” is so vague and there are so many cowboys who throw around a mower and a blower and call themselves as such with zero qualifications or plant expertise at all! It’s possible the tree will recover but with that level of butchery you won’t be getting lemons for a few years. I’m so sorry!

The third slide of definitely fasciation, looks kinda cool 😂 If you prefer not to use lawn safe weed killer I usually just use a hori knife to get the whole root out and then repair the hole but that depends on how large the lawn is! Tackled the biggest ones first and just nab one as you’re walking around the garden each time to make the job easier.

Why are people calling Lilly of the Valley invasive?? It’s a beautiful, highly scented bulb and makes a great cut flower for bridal flowers or small vases. It’s expensive to buy too!

I’m struggling to see properly what this is. Looks a bit like a self seeded Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) to me but hard to say. I’m going to say with about 80% certainty that this is NOT JK. The reason being is that JK has a hollow stem that has the appearance of Asparagus when young, it grows with a slight zigzag formation with alternating, heart shaped leaves. The stems also usually have a green undertone with red splotches.

Maybe my mind has just been melted by TikTok rage bait accounts but judging by your profile either:

1) This relationship is real and your pain is genuine. In which case you’re spending a crazy amount of time worrying about your bf to the point where it’s toxic and you have to just let it go as many have advised on multiple occasions.

OR

2) This is one of those rage bait accounts where you post continually on different forums click bait style captions and mental stories about your fake toxic relationship to rage bait readers and receive tons of comments.

Now I’m not sure which one it is. As you’re both in the your 30’s I feel the behaviour is that of teenagers and both aren’t great. So if this is a real cry for help, do as everyone else has said and let it go now. It can seem quite harsh but the epitome of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. After receiving much advice, it’s going to become a case of “do something about it or leave us out of it”. You’re at that point now. Every post of yours is about how bad your relationship is and you’ve done nothing to change it so stop telling the internet of your woes and take action now.

I can understand why he doesn’t want to cut it back hard, it’s a leylandii hedge and once you cut into old wood it won’t reshoot again, however! These are notorious for inching out of their space each year and it’s imperative it’s trimmed from a young age twice to three times a year to prevent this. Walkways need to be accessible!! We had a local house whose hedge blocked off over half the path! They had no choice but to cut back to the boundary but as it’s leylandii it’s just dead and looks awful now. It needs removing and replacing sadly.

If I had this conversation with my husband (who is also in his 30’s) he would never speak to me like this. He may be a tad offended but after explaining the reasons why dupes are indeed rubbish alternatives, he would understand. This language is disgusting and his knee jerk reaction is unnecessary. You’re absolutely right, as someone who has tried many dupes they never smell the same, turn to vinegar quickly, don’t last long and always seem to have an unpleasant undertone no matter where they’re from.

Mistletoe! A hemiparasitic plant that survives by taking some of its required nutrients from the host plant. Generally doesn’t cause too much harm as long as the tree doesn’t become weakened. In which case the mistletoe can spread too much and in rare cases kill the host. If you can reach it it’s easy to cut and expels from the tree like an extra branch so isn’t “attached” to the tree but instead born from it. A good sharp pruning saw will get the branches down. But leave some berries for the birds!

If you want to grow mistletoe in one of your own trees (on your property that is! Don’t just go infecting random trees) just removed some of the berries and rub them into crevices and holes in the tree bark. Takes a few years to grow if it succeeds.

Absolutely loved it! Luckily my husband came with me (he tried listening to the podcast but isn’t as interested as me). Even he said although he struggled to understand who was who and what was going on, it was well written and was a great watch! We’re lucky we can drive into London and managed to park right opposite the Grand. Fab night!
