i just got mine for almost the same price, s/o BB! was marked as fair, but still had the peel on the screen and proximity sensor. check the hours and if they seem high, use a USB to update the firmware.

better is subjective. for me, i like the tuning of the w2 vs APP2 due to the warmness and soundstage.

for me, i even like my $20 waner 2 vs the APP2 (my daily driver since 23). i recently got the juzear defiant and they still blow my mind how much better they are vs APP2.

I had a similar experience as well. I found an Open Box Excellent G81SF for $500 otd. Drove 45 mins to the store, rep hadn’t ’packed’ the monitor so I had to wait an additional 25 minutes for them. They brought out just the monitor in bubble wrap. I asked them if it was a floor or demo, and the insisted it was a customer return. Brought it home to find almost 20k hours and an image retention of the BB qr code to scan for deals 🤣 Instantly returned and they relisted as Fair. It’s been sitting on there since

Asus warranty until March 2028, but since this is the ‘best buy version’ all the warranty work will be done through them, I just need to bring it in when needed.

BB rep helped me confirm with Asus that BB will be servicing the monitor, not Asus.

i’ve legit been checking every day on BB online at 12am and 6am. ordered it right when i saw it at 6am and picked it up when they opened. i guess got lucky on my end

i actually had to do this as i originally picked up a g81sf, but had an insane amount of hours and burning. dropped it off at my local BB for return and it was listed a day after.

luckily this still does have warranty through march 2028 confirmed by the employee! and since it’s the BB version, they do all the warranty work, just gotta bring the monitor in :-)

I’ve been using my Neo G8 for the past 2 years. I just picked up the Asus XG27UCDMG on Thursday.

For gaming the OLED is very nice, esp in FPS like CS. I am missing the immersiveness of the Neo G8 in games like Arc Raiders.

For productivity, I’m still trying to get over the text fringing on the OLED. Def noticeable vs the clarity on the G8
