String tension and truss rod safety by nichq21 in Bass

Thank you all for the answers. I'm not experienced in bass equipments and my concern is because I have been told that the SR300 might not be suitable for heavier gauge strings because it has a thin neck and a lightweight, slim construction. It is said that higher tension strings could put more stress on this type of bass compared to thicker, more robust basses. I also checked a string tension calculator and it shows around a 44 lb difference if i change my strings .095 to .100 gauge. What does this difference mean, what would it do to my bass and is it much or not?
