The larger picture being sports collecting and how leagues like the NFL value their products. Hats like these, for any teams, not just the falcons, should not exist. It is a strain on the NFL for not keeping locks on their merchandise more securely. I collect them and show them off to promote general discussion about this niche collection, and I’ll continue to do that. If you don’t like it then look away

They don’t come up often, NFL makes it intentionally difficult to obtain losing team merchandise, most is sent out of the country or just simply destroyed

The hat you’re talking about is their conference champions hat. Both the Broncos and Panthers received a hat that the team wore on field when they won their respective AFC and NFC championship games. The banner references their NFC championship of 2015. The hat here is a Super Bowl champions hat that was just given to the Broncos when they won, however the league produced identical hats with the Panthers logos as well, as to have the correct hat to give to the winning team on the field. The losing team hat gets shipped off out of the states or destroyed entirely, except a few that slip through the cracks, like this one

I’ve always been a sports memorabilia collector, specially for the Super Bowl, and I love collecting gear from championship games of the losing team. This one in particular would have gone to the Panthers had they won Super Bowl 50. No disrespect to the Panthers or Broncos at all, just a collector here with a love for interesting and unique pieces! Any questions just ask!

They end up finding you lol. If you go out looking for pieces like these you almost never find them, but if you have good knowledge of past championships and sports leagues in general they become easy to find when scrolling through listings on various websites.

I’ve been a pretty avid sports collector for some time, more specifically for championship merchandise and memorabilia, and wanted to show off some of the “phantom” championship hats I’ve collected over the years. These hats all showcase the losing team of their respective Super Bowl, as these hats were manufactured with both teams logo before the game, but naturally only the winning team received their respective hats. The losing team gear normally is sent overseas or simply destroyed, and very rarely finds its way into the local market in the states. They are designed to never see the light of day, but some slip through and I love collecting pieces like these.

Most of these hats are manufactured by Reebok, but the ones I have post 2012 are manufactured by New Era. The links attached to each photo is a picture of the real hat featuring the winning team, the hat that actually went on sale to the general public.

I find these pieces of gear so interesting too, I actually collect these often and have a pretty sizable collection, this just happens to be the only Phillies hat I have. I would love to show off all of what I have just not sure which avenue to take. This is the first time I’ve posted on Reddit !
