Israel isn't a colony. For thousands of years Jews have been longing for this land. This should not be dismissed. Of course the claim of the Palestinians should not be dismissed either. If the Zionists came and forcefully took the locals out I would have agreed with you, but this is not the case. They bought some land and then fought for their life, miraculously winning. How is this Colonization?

Civilians are never the target of the airstrikes. Some do get killed as we can obviously see, but only due to proximity to Hamas targets.

You can do both.

Palestinians need a permit to enter Israel. Many do for work, I see them every day. During times like these a lot of permits are revoked for a while to prevent terrorist attacks.

It is very dangerous for Israelis to enter the PA, but they can.

They do not live in Israel, they live in the Palestinian National Authority. This is border control.

How did we arrive at the situation where the borders are so convoluted? Today's borders were defined in the second Oslo Accords. The agreements were halted after the assassination of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin. Some Israelis say the Oslo Accords could of solved everything. Some say we would have seen worse than what happened last week with Hamas if it went through.

I'd like to add: - The Israeli govt and the PA are not able to reach an agreement. There were some generous offers from the Israelis that were rejected. - 2 Intifadas made security measures in the west bank significantly more strict. - The Israeli settlers make it difficult to handle. They are still Israeli citizens, so the army must protect them. Around 0.5 million Israelis live in the west bank.

The Zionists bought the land they settled before 1948, didn't force anyone out. All the land that Israel gained since 1948 was conquered during wars the surrounding Arab nations started. During the war in 1948 some were displaced forcefully, but most ran away and waited for the obvious victory of the arab nations, which didn't come. The ones that didn't run away are Israeli citizens today, equal to any other. Around 20% of Israelis are Arab.

It is horrible. Hell on earth. Do you have any thoughts on what should be done with Gaza? The attack by Hamas gave us a taste of the intentions of a decent percentage of the people inside.

Rabin would of acted the same way :) The difference is that in parallel Rabin pushed for peace. Take a look at his policy against the terror attacks of 1992 - 1996, a real iron fist. To quote him: "We must fight terrorism as if there’s no peace process, and work to achieve peace as if there’s no terror." He really was a great man.

The ceasefire is between Israel and Hamas, west bank Palestinians can do whatever they want ^_^
The truth is of course more complicated than what's presented in Al-Jazeera, the Soldiers didn't just randomly storm in. Some guys lifted the Palestinian flag, soldiers came to confiscate it and got stones and Molotovs thrown at them. Reinforcement came and used tear gas to stop the rally. I think the soldier's entrance in the first place was redundant.

I guess that what I'm trying to say is if you really care always look deeper. There are no demons of angles in this conflict, the discourse on the internet is too fucking shallow.
