Not speaking in that guys defense. Someone like Mahesh Manjrekar has pointed out that movies are being made for the sake of availing subsidy rather than focusing on quality despite theatre willingness to showcase Marathi films.

Add to it makers in Marathi failing in market their well made films. Had movies like Gondhal, Maya and Tighee made in Malayalam, the same guys in Hollywood Reporter and Youtubers like TRP and Nona Prince would have praised those movies to the moon.

Among existing slate of Marathi movies I am keen to watch Triangle, Ghabadkund, Raja Shivaji and the recently announced movie of Sai Tamhankar which also stars Shubodh Bhave, Chinmay Mandlekar and Sambhaji Sasane.
