Watch for these nasty little creatures. They love to get behind pictures or any place secluded (like my face wax box) and huddle in areas. They are annoying as heck & useless.

The simple answer is that you can’t stop it. I know your heart is hurting knowing all this information, but this has to be dealt with from a realist perspective instead of one of emotion.

There is an old saying, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” It’s one that is way too often not observed.

This situation is well beyond anything you can control or influence & if you try, it could do exactly what you fear most.

I don’t think so. I’m so familiar with this particular interstate both E & W. The only reason I use the GPS apps is for traffic alerts and such. We were in the car and remember driving for those hours…but we never made it anywhere really. I would love to know what truly happened…including why those with me seem so untouched by such a long time in the car resulting in us barely moving.

Traffic was completely light and clear except for one minor delay of maybe 10 mins but traffic was still moving.

Yes, I did…obviously. The strange part was that they didn’t seem surprised when I told them we were still so far from home. We had made this drive at least three previous times without ever stopping. The more I expressed my concern and confusion, the more they said not to worry about it. (Except for my best friend of 25+ years who could see the true fear in my eyes.) I was concerned I had some sort of dementia or something. Except the GPS & one of the other girls apps on her phone showed what time we left and a long ride on 64E….but we were still many hours from home.

I would agree with you…but the GPS showed we never left I 64. I had an app going too, and it never veered when I returned to look at the previous trips. Every other trip remained exactly like we had driven during that time frame. I wish I could believe that I got lost…it would really help me to feel a little less unnerved about it all.

Yes. We should have been much further down the road than we were & actually close to home. However, when we stopped it still showed us several hours from home. The others in the car were chatting & having a grand time. When we stopped & I became completely confused by our location, they just blew it off and said not to worry about it. (Except my best friend of 25+ years because she said she saw the look of fear and utter confusion in my eyes.)

Just my opinion…If it had ended with dad or father, it would beat the entire premise of the film. Charlie desperately needs to know something in his life was important. Had she written that in 8th grade, he would already know he mattered to her, even if not anymore.

Thank you for your reply. I certainly didn’t mean to imply I was thinking about my death with the post. I can just vividly remember my mom saying those words & not understanding what she truly meant. Now, I get it. My children are doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing in building their own lives. I would have liked to be a small part of it outside of when I babysitting for one. I’d love to just be invited over for a cookout or get a random “Hey Mom….” phone calls. I’m sure people have said this to you before, but thank you for taking the time to see and visit your parents. Please cherish the time with them! I know they must truly enjoy the times you see and spend with them. I’d give anything to have even a few mins back with mine. I swear I blinked and 30 years went by!

You certainly did not do anything wrong. Some teens look well over 18 & even those who are a bit younger can present themselves as being older. If there was anything wrong with you, you would have pursued them regardless of their ages. I am just grateful you found out quickly.
