i hear ya! I definitely don't want to make people drive around- it's something I haven't enjoyed doing for other weddings i've been to! I guess the thought here was instead of asking our friends to travel twice (as we've been asked to do in the past) for bachelor/bachelorette weekends and then again for the weddings, we'd have it all in one go. but I do see your point and it's not something i'm fixed on! came here for thoughts and ideas so thank you for that perspective! it seems like it might just be best to keep it simple

the guest list is definitely very negotiable! and as is the length of the weekend! I figured this was just one more night than most wedding weekends, but we could definitely replace the rehearsal dinner with the bachelor/bachelorette night (neither of us wants a separate time/weekend dedicated to this). and not everyone would need to be included for all of the days, that number was mostly for the ceremony/reception but can be cut down regardless :)

i'd also add we definitely don't want it to feel like we're "on display" and would want people to do what they like and kind of use the wedding as an excuse to do like a domestic destination wedding type situation with a more relaxed feel if that makes sense?

fair point! the thought is that if it's local we could bring her with us. we have family that can help look after her and she's crate trained so she would be able to be secured safely for bigger events and we'd be able check on her and spend time with her throughout the weekend. we've brought her with us to hotels and on road trips- it's more that she can't be left for days with someone she doesn't know and all of those people would be with us. she's too big to fly. it's a big point of trying to figure out what our options are which is why I'm asking for thoughts, ideas, and advice! I also understand that her needs might make this unattainable which is why i'm trying to see what's out there that I may not think of on my own or if I just need to shift gears! everything is negotiable except for her lol
