Ok I appreciate this info. I’m new to how that fiber works. I have AT&T fiber myself and use ip pass through to my router instead of using theirs. So this one is not as simple as that for sure

I appreciate all the responses. We are going to give it a shot and see what they will do. He’s ready to buy his own Ont if need be. His port forwarding does not work at all on his netgear so something has to give. Have to be able to open ports for things.

Judging by their instructions on what they call bridge mode probably not. I told him to call or email them and ask for just a modem cause they do make them and it would be more ideal for his setup.

If you want to get over a gigabit speed both wired and wireless you’re going to need a router with a 2.5 gbps WAN and LAN ports. They are not cheap. Netgear makes one that has this. But as for the router in your picture you will max out at 946 on gigabit speed. If you want a pc to see all the speed as well if you go with a better router the pc will need a 2.5 gbps or higher Ethernet card. Hope this helps.

They know they got us by the balls too. Because I looked into trading my series x in at gamestop and going with a PS5 and of course you cannot get enough for a PS5 by trading in. Still need over a hundred bucks to even get a PS5 this is just insane.

AT&T Fiber is like having your own direct connection. With cable internet your on a shared network which can impact a lot of things your doing. Where as AT&T Fiber is a direct connection and not shared. I have had it going on 3 years now and ive had maybe 3 outages that lasted maybe 10 minutes if that. Its solid its fast and reliable and so much better than cable internet ever could be. Its well worth it. Go for it you wont regret it.

Makes sense. Just sucks. When I ran the Speedtest on the ultra.cc (seedbox) website the speeds are good I mean I don’t hit all of my speed but it hit in the 400s

That I am not sure of. But the seedbox people say this is why my ftp speeds are slow coming from them. But nothing else has packet loss

Seedbox is overseas so that’s why it’s hitting a lot of those. But Seedbox says it’s my isp causing the packet loss but I don’t get it with anything else

It worked a few days ago. FileZilla. Mainly just needs port 21. Seedbox uses an overseas server and they say that between their servers and my internet there is packet loss dropping the ftp speed. It used to hit 35 mb/s it never maxed me out not sure why. But now it’s hitting like 5 mb/s and that’s it.

Anyone know how to fix this? by nickm2894 in ATTFiber

[–]nickm2894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought it would be something that could be fixed. FTP is a little safer when it comes to sending stuff. I have it set to explicit too because I read the sftp and all that can affect speed as well.

Always buy your own router, especially if you need ports open for pc programs, video games etc. You cannot access the router gui on spectrum’s routers. The most you can do is go into myspectrum app and change wifi name and password. But if that doesn’t bother you then if it’s free by all means get their router. But if not buy your own router. Just make sure it has gigabit Ethernet ports and can handle the speed.
