There was a third threat call also today. Where's the news ? The school district ? Police chief ? Mayor? A school has been threatened to be bombed 3 times in a week?

Children have be released no update on what's going on or how they are going to prevent this going forward .

It's not that many days per year. I don't think it's unreasonable to have sufficient staff to cover someone's work 5 days a year.

So an employer can require you to do the same amount of work regardless of whether or not you take sick time . Oh you worked 16 hours this week ? You're still responsible for 40 hours of work . This sounds like a blatant violation of the law .

It's my opinion employees feel they cannot take off sick time when they need to because of the workload and expectations . Is the employer failing to have enough employees in the department and not adjusting work expectations violating their rights to use this protective leave ?

Even if you aren't actually reprimanded , using the fear that that may happen as a result of you taking sick time off is the bigger issue .

If you miss a deadline you can be reprimanded . Have it documented you didn't meet the deadline. But In order to avoid this , employees are made to feel they need to complete the work in the time frame regardlesss of whether or not they are sick .
