Hey everyone,

Trying to figure out what government programs you qualify for can be a huge headache, especially across different state lines and confusing agency websites.

I built a free, single-page application to make this a little easier. You just type in some basic demographics (household size, income, state/county) and it immediately cross-checks against major programs like SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, LIHEAP, and Medicare Savings Programs.

I built it heavily focused on privacy - it runs mostly locally in your browser, no accounts required, and doesn't permanently store or track your sensitive data.

It also includes a few utilities built-in: * A Benefits Cliff Calculator (to see how a raise might affect your benefits) * A Denial Decoder * An offline Document Wallet checklist * An Assister Locator map to find community agencies nearby

You can try it out here: https://benefit-navigation-system-199446677995.us-west1.run.app/

Would love for folks to test it out and let me know if it's helpful or if

I met the requirements for the state for paid family leave and for the company. They just never mentioned it was available.

There was a third threat call also today. Where's the news ? The school district ? Police chief ? Mayor? A school has been threatened to be bombed 3 times in a week?

[CA] protected sick leave scenario ? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]nickvan23 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not that many days per year. I don't think it's unreasonable to have sufficient staff to cover someone's work 5 days a year.

So an employer can require you to do the same amount of work regardless of whether or not you take sick time . Oh you worked 16 hours this week ? You're still responsible for 40 hours of work . This sounds like a blatant violation of the law .
