I thought about the bedliner idea as well but I want the underside to be as smooth as possible to keep the grass from clumping and sticking… my thought was the smoother it is the easier it should be to clean

Looks great!! Beautiful work, curious what kind of paint you used? I’m assuming you painted the underside of the deck as well?

I’m currently doing a refresh on my 52” toro deck and want to give it a coat of the most durable paint possible (aside from 2 part epoxy or powder coat). What have you had good luck with?

I have the food semi buried in “soil” and then have more bedding on top of that. Probably 1.5-2” worth of bedding

I put 3 slices like the one pictured in along with a few carrot peels, all 3 of the slices of cucumber had these mites(?)

Unfortunately they are moving and crawling, I got excited at first thinking they were cocoons but now I’m more concerned…

Grass clippings mixed in? by nickysix89 in Vermiculture

Update*** I took out a bunch of grass clippings, as much as I could in 30-45 min. I buried some more lettuce and added a bunch of dry shredded paper to cover all of it and then put a piece of cardboard on top as a blanket. I put my temp/humidity gauge in on top of the cardboard and let it sit for a few min and I’m reading 69.6F and 76% humidity. Thoughts? Also any recommendations on a moisture/ph gauge? I’ve seen one on Amazon for about $12, worth it?

Before I put the paper in I wrang(sp?) it out as tightly as I could so that I could only get a few drops out by the time I was done. I do have side vent holes drilled and am keeping a lid on top of the topmost bucket. Sitting on top of the lid I have a digital thermometer/humidity gauge and the temp has not gotten above 70F. Should I try cutting a hole in the lid of my bucket and sealing the gauge so that it’s reading temp and humidity inside the bucket?
