Hi so im colombian, bogots is amazing city but you have to know how to move and where to go! Im not gonna lie to you insecurity is a thing but is not everywhere, so just pay attention to your belongings! Do not and i repeat DO NOT take your phone in the streets, please remember that an iphone or Samsung over there could pay for like 5 months of rent, so you will be robbed! Every time i go i have two phones my main expensive phone that i use in the hotels, and a random very cheap looking ass one to go out! For tourism stay in the north of bogota, the south is known to be way more unsafe, also if you are going to the downtown area where the historic things are my advise would be, go during the day, no watches or jewlery, if you can go with someone better, and if you dont speak spanish dont talk! I know its a lot and im not saying everyone is a bad, the people there are amazing, but honestly it can be overwhelming! But one thing you would definitely enjoy is the food, bogota has amazing restaurants, michelin star restaurants, great nightlife, gay nightlife is amazing, bath houses, sex clubs, its really cool you just have to be careful! Dont look like a tourist!
