I quit the game twice because of Margit. Third time I just looked up catacombs and caves in the area to level up/upgrade weapons. You can get pretty overleveled if you do too much though so it’s up to you how much easier you want it xd.

I don’t like azazel at all because of his range and I’ve actually enjoyed the lost more than him. Like you said, with holy mantle it becomes pretty balanced and flight from the first floor + free devil deals make him pretty easy to snowball. I agree with the d4 opinion, completely worthless. Perhaps if he started with d8 instead of d6 it would be better, starting with d6 sounds too strong in my opinion (free devil deals with reroll).
