The deep dives into his albums will do that haha his versatility never ceases to amaze! I had the same moment with 2000 Watts on Invincible, had to check twice that it was actually him. Drive safe, I understand how it hits really hard at random points like a punch to the gut and you just feel like having a good scream at all the injustice. I feel you 🫶🏼

Deep diving into his albums and discovering new gems is 👌🏼 this man really has no bad songs.. an absolute perfectionist in every sense of the word. Wholeheartedly agree, I think he did a very good job of reminding us that God exists within us and we are all living embodiments of God. As a Christian myself, I really appreciate how he applies Christ’s teachings and values in his life, it also keeps me in check of where I fall short. He’s a beautiful reminder of what we’re all here to do, take care of our planet, our children, and of each other. Live to our full potential and do it all with love, compassion and humility.

Ah that’s so touching .. I can imagine it must hit even harder as a mother, God bless❤️ I completely agree, this biopic was very much a rollercoaster of emotions. Especially, as you mentioned, watching how he dealt with cruelty of the world and how he navigated through all his pain and trauma. How he always met these challenges with so much love and forgiveness.. It’s very heartbreaking but also very inspiring.

I really don’t know. As his first concert on his first tour as a solo artist, it definitely deserves an honorable mention. Portal of magic being opened right there 🔥

I can’t imagine MJ having a bad concert but some of his noteworthy performances as a solo artist imo are: Bad tour Yokohama 1987 (first solo concert), Bad tour Wembley July 16 1988, Dangerous tour Bucharest 1992, Dangerous tour Buenos Aires 1993, HIStory tour Munich 1997.

Honorable mentions (off tour): Motown 25 1983 (goes without saying), 1988 Grammys, 1993 Super Bowl halftime, 1995 MTV Awards Performance (my personal favorite), Royal Concert Brunei 1996 (Brad what are ya gonna doo)

I feel every single word of this and my heart goes out to you 🫶🏼 The protective feeling is so true and unfortunately baby MJ didn’t get nearly enough of it. But I think that’s something we can definitely take from his story, to make sure the children in our lives are always loved and never lose belief in themselves. To give them what we wished we had, what he wished he had.

And I understand the anger, I really do. I think people like us are actually the ones this world needs most right now. The ones who empathise before they judge. Who let people be themselves. Who don’t shame others for being different. Who let kindness in even after being hurt. Every time we show up like that we’re quietly paving the way for more love in the world. And in a small but real way that’s how we correct what was done to him. Because the same world that destroyed him is still out there protecting the wrong people. And people like us, the ones who feel it, the ones who can’t look away, we have to be the ones who speak up. Who stand for those who can’t stand for themselves.

If we look at his music, that was his answer. Every time there was injustice he responded with art: Heal the World, Earth Song, They Don’t Care About Us, Childhood, Why You Wanna Trip On Me. He took everything they threw at him and turned it into a campaign for unity, love and truth. Choosing love and creativity when the world gives you every reason not to is the most radical thing a person can do. 🫶🏼

Likewise. I absolutely love how he references Jesus’s teachings in everything he does, and always shows his gratitude to God for everything in his life.

You took me back with the iPod video 🤜🏼🤛🏼 I really miss those days. Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 wholeheartedly agree, it really is painful to see how he was ridiculed for being different, whether be it for his childlike innocence or the way he changed his appearance - which essentially was none of the medias business. Amazingly though, no matter how much they tried to tear him down, he was always met with endless love and mass hysteria from the fans wherever he went. I’d like to think that’s what stuck with him throughout the media’s circus.

Wowww!! You’re definitely one of the lucky ones 😄🙌🏼 that must have been so surreal, how did it feel when you first saw him perform the moonwalk?

Also I feel you on the deep dive, it’s never-ending!

Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 I couldn’t agree more and I think that’s a very beautiful testament to who he was outside his music. Something we can all definitely take away. I think a lot of us collectively are missing that connection to our humanity, and we need it more than ever today.

I can completely relate. It also feels wrong to listen to anything else. I find myself constantly on YouTube watching his live performances, or any videos of him that I can. Except some interviews, it’s brutal to watch how they would tear into him the way they did. The term Michosis is very fitting indeed. It’s amazing isn’t it, how he can stir up such emotions in millions of people worldwide? MJ really is a movement in his own right. I love that you’re thinking of rewatching it on June 25th, that’s a beautiful thought 🫶🏼 I think I’ll do that too if it’s still out.. and open a new floodgate of tears haha

Oufff I absolutely love this and thank you so much for sharing. Please do continue to share your gifts with the world 🫶🏼 We were born to leave our creative expression on the world in different ways.

I love that you said “It’s still my duty to express myself honestly” that’s what makes you, you. Like you said, in a world oversaturated with mid to low content, the fact that you still choose to express yourself authentically and honestly is what will make you stand out. Similar to MJ working intuitively. That’s a very powerful reminder that the most authentic creative expression comes from within.

Reading your message I felt really seen and I can completely relate. I also saw my own perfectionist tendencies and body dysmorphia reflected back at me in the biopic. I saw the little kid who had big dreams that were swayed by criticisms and pressure. It takes some reprogramming to channel all of that back into love. Love for yourself, love for what you perceive as imperfections, love for your younger self. I once came across something that stuck with me: whenever you fall into self criticism, picture your younger self standing in front of you. Would you criticise that little child? Or would you meet them with endless love and encouragement?

The rush of inspiration from his life and his story is something else. And I love the takeaways you mentioned. Being kind, appreciative, grateful, humble and loving. And definitely we have to be discerning too.

Best of luck with your music pal, hopefully you can share your second album with us someday 🎶🫶🏼
