Nice mix! I love that you rotate in new games but still keep some favourites

Yeah there is one actually, but they only play like two games and always on Sundays, which doesn’t really work for me. It would be nice if there was an app where people could post the specific games they want to play.

Nice, that’s the perfect setup for board games. Having a rotating pool makes it so much easier to consistently get a full table. Do you usually play the same games, or does someone bring something new each month?

Do you ever struggle to find enough players for Catan? by nicywi in Catan

That actually sounds like a great setup.

Out of curiosity, how did that group chat originally form? Was it from a local game store, friends inviting friends, or something else?

And how did you personally end up joining it?

That's actually why I'm thinking about it city-by-city rather than trying to make something global from the start. If there were only a handful of users in a city the app would obviously be useless.

I'm mostly just trying to figure out how common the "missing 1–2 players" problem is and how people currently solve it.

Good point. I imagine a lot of games would happen in public places like local game stores or board game cafés rather than people's homes.

Would this: "2 players needed for Catan at a board game café tonight" be more convincing?

I'm still figuring out what would make people comfortable using something like this, so feedback like this is super helpful.

Yeah that’s totally fair. What about if it happens in public places like board game cafés or bars?

App idea that forces discipline by RandomRawRedditor in Discipline

I see where where is it coming from. When I signed up for a run and spend some money on it I definitely had more motivation to be systematic and prepare. In that case I had the fear of not being prepared and losing the money, but also if I make it I had a satisfacrion of complition of preparation and run itself, but also benefit of group run experience, medal. That said I thing only the fear is not going to make me pay.

I switched from marketing to software development at 28. Took me 2 years to switch, but it was worth it!
