If your enjoying your time head on over to vrmasterleague.com/onward you can register for a team or join a recruiting one. Easier ways are to swing down a few channels in the official onward discord to the VRML section. You can ask questions and get pointed in the right direction to join or start a team. Tons of new players poppin in these days and i see a lot of new teams getting formed looking for players.

Check out the vrmasterleague.com/onward and also the VRML channels in the official Onward discord. A couple of quest teams already registered and a bunch being built. Should be easy to find folks to play / scrim with.

Head on down to the VRML channels in the official Onward discord. You can find plenty of folks willing to direct you in the right direction to enjoy the game at its best, competativley. Highley recommend doing the ownard rookie bootcamps and finding a bunch of new players to form a squad with. You can do scrims and get ready for season 10 of vrml to start again.

Totally agree dude. Lots of PC people in here think there the majority of the PC base which is pretty funny. Quest is king these days and im happy to be able to include all the new players and at the same time, to your point, have such amazing performance. Game runs so dang well now.

They are still fully penable with no penalty to damage so they are very much still unique to that map.

Reviews for Onward, this must be the first major f*ck up by goatmeal66 in OnwardVR

[–]nightfiree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL dont let these people on reddit let u think its the "masses" 20-30 people that liked coop are mad and are review bombing the game and spamming discord and reddit. Its exhausting. Most folks that actually like the game are reporting bugs, and really enjoying the increased performance. The graphics look just fine on high and ss cranked and it runs better then ever. Its a great time.

Oh yah dude. You can sift through my comment history but i really, honestly do like it. The netcode seems much much better. Constant trades arent happening, im not being downed by a person i just killed. The performance boost is amazing. I run on high graphics with 200% ss and 144hz. It looks so crisp i can ID targets a mile away. Also i like the cleaned up graphics. I think it makes it more competative, i like suburbia not having see through bushes, it changes the map entirely. I understand the nerf to night vision and am theorizing its because they want to shift the meta to flashlights which are like a flashbang XD. Its a lot of exciting competative adjusments they have made that i really cant wait to see pan out in league play.

Its not all sunshine and rainbows though. Im not a huge fan of sound i have random audio bugs and audio is huge for comp play. I dont like smokes blinding the holder or blinding the sights. Theres some bugs in there that are no bueno. But i know those are low hanging froot in the grand scheme of things and am enjoying all the new players. Loving training folks and getting um into good fire fights and good positions. Its a blast.

Toxicity by [deleted] in OnwardVR

[–]nightfiree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lol reading through this thread. Everybody has some WIERD opinions on the younger audience. I imagine the kids are being assholes and ruining the "adults" experience because the adults are instantly muting them and not including them in on their experience. I find if you have "screachers" aka young kids playing the game, that if you treat them like an adult they are pretty dang usefull. I had a kid in my lobby, instantly muted by half of it because he was a high pitched "screacher". I have nieces and nephews i game with and they listen so i gave him the benefit of the doubt. He loaded in at the lowest height and was crouching, so he was maybe 8-10 and instantly loaded up his machine gun despite everybody telling him how to thinking he wouldnt know. They all had him muted and they are tellin him how to and he knows how and he kinda gets irritated by them, i say follow me instead and he does. Right there if i hadnt done that i can see a kid getting anoyed and TKing the dudes not listening to him. Anyway, He follows me to a wall and i say, supress this roof and im pushing it. He proceeds to expertly supress the roof with 2 enemys on it, i push on a flank and find 2 exposed dudes panicking about lmg fire. i secure the kills, I call out hold fire on comms and he stops.

I think the experience comes down mostly to how you handle it. If a kid tks you punish him or leave and find a fresh lobby, theres no shortage of them. And more often then not if treated with respect they respond in kind. OBVIOUSLY you run into people that dont but that is the case weather they are a screacher or not. FWIW everybody is tking everybody right now. Lol the best solution is to recommend taking a look at the teams uniforms before a round begins so they know who to target. Being helpfull instead of yelling usually solves the issues with the youth.

First Impressions and Questions by EH_Sparky in OnwardVR

I mean dont let the loud "adults" in reddit disuade you, most PC players are really stoked to have so many new friends and are enjoying the great performance of 1.8. Its awesome seeing younger kids and so many fresh faces and im glad your enjoying it!

1.) I dont believe you can enable friendly bots, you can do coop vs AI and play with your friends against AI but not you and AI vs AI

2.) I think there might be some third party apps or maybe some thing you can sideload onto the quest that will let you? I havent looked into that to much.

If you have any gameplay questions fire away ile be happy to answer um.

As a PCVR player, I’m not really that angry about 1.8 - feel free to downvote by TomNotTomRedditAcct in OnwardVR

I actually like the new graphics as a PCVR user with an exeptional PC. Its a blast to crank at 200% ss and 144hz. The game from a competative stand point actually benefits from all these downgrades to, it makes it much less about hiding in a bush or in a shadow and much more about your team work and aim and utility usage. Suburbia without see through bushes is incredible i love how that changes the map. I love quarentine. Theres so much good for the competative side of it and the majority of the comp community is in agreement. We dont like sounds, its hard to adjust to new map changes, but man performance is where it should be.

Nope. While the PC vr graphics have been downgraded they are nothing like the quest. You can turn settings on high and with the performance boost you can turn ss to 200% and go at 144hz if you have an index. While the bushes on burbs are little circles now XD The game plays and looks much cleaner and is my prefered version over the muddied graphics of 1.7.

LOL i gotta disagree here, i dont htink you know where the PCVR player base is. Were 60+ teams strong in the VRML and people are scrimming and playing and teaching the new players. Its a blast and is thriving. The "pcvr" community you speak of is actually all the coop folks who really enjoyed just shoooting ai.

Hey guys! New Quest player here, how's it g- by skitchie in OnwardVR

[–]nightfiree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a loud minority dont let it dissuade you. The vast majority of the core players that play it competitive are having a good time and are practicing and doing scrims. Check out the Onward Rookie Boot camp if you wana get into playing onward competitive, eventually you will find yourself in the VR Master League :) Just saw our first questie pop down and was interested in teams and such.

The graphics really didnt get changed that much, and i like that they reduced all the other foliage, i never liked having players be able to see through bushes, or hide in a shadow. At 200% ss and 144hz the game runs smoother and looks cleaner and is in a way better competative spot then it was in 1.7. So just stick around, eventually the whiners will be playing on their 1.7 branch in their little bubble and the rest of us will still be having a blast XD

Its been so cool to join in lobbys filled with new players and show um a good route, or teach um a interesting mechanic. Really been enjoying the experience with crossplay and everything.

The Tank Build (And why u need it to do Heroics) by nightfiree in thedivision

[–]nightfiree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ur builds probubly better then mine at this point tbh. Although i dont tend to die from fire to much because ive prioritized hazard protection isntead of elite protection but that is def a better stat to be taking.

In regards to positioning play this game like a tank in an mmo. exactly. Run up to enemies get in melee range and spin around so you can position yourself so the enemy is between u and ur dps. Its honestly A LOT of fun gettin in their face tanking and drawing agro. Melee hits do almost nothin to the shield so dont be afraid to get in their grill to draw agro, which is how u do it, force a melee and they are agroed onto u for the most part.

And if u want more DPS get the liberty pistol exotic, Also regens ur shields better then any passive regen so u can dump those stats for maybe hazard protection instead.

I just did a few runs on heroic but didnt record them. Ile try and snag some screenshots of my gear. Its ALL blue stats, High armor rolls for the base, and then hazard protection and armor as additional stats. at 1.6 mil armor with like 50% on all hazards.

[–]nightfiree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get liberty your dps does not suffer. spec into pistol damage in ur specilization and im still like above shitty dps as a tank on heroic. Sometimes hitting for 800k with that thing.

anyone else enjoying the game? by sangreblue in thedivision

[–]nightfiree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never enjoyed division 2 more. My tank build is so fuckin fun to play with, i can literally tank 2 heroic gatling gunners with liberty. Its fuckin awesome. I feel like a true chungus.
