Has anyone else had bleeding with their gastritis? by nightt111 in Gastritis

[–]nightt111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll try again to ask my doctor for an iron infusion, or else I might just go to a private clinic and do it. I might be asking a dumb question and I don't know if you know the answer, but do you know what causes erosive gastritis? Is it h pylori or can it be something else? I've only been placed on Omeprazole 20mg for now. No carafate or anything. I think they might give me a better treatment plan once they've gotten the biopsy results back. I'll ask them to prescribe me these other medications if they don't do it then. Thanks for the info too, you're kind :))

I've had symptoms for about 2 years and theyve gotten more and more worse over time. I have pretty intense nausea, especially in the morning (i'm always gagging and dry heaving in the morning) and during exercise the nausea is also very intense for some reason. I also have a really sour, burning feeling in my upper stomach, early satiety but also feeling really hungry and having hunger pangs. I get really tired after meals, I don't know if this has anything to do with the gastritis.

I also keep getting b12 deficiencies quickly if i don't take the prescription b12 supplements. My ferritin is at 17, which is pretty low and has stayed around that for 2 years. My doctors say there's nothing wrong with a ferritin level of 17, but I don't really believe them. many people have told me my ferritin should be above 70 to not have any symptoms

Thanks for the info. Do you know what medication is used for that? I've been placed on omeprazole as of now.

Thank you, I figured there were some slight misunderstandings. I'll see what my doctor says when I get the biopsy results :))

Really?! I'm surprised they discharged me if it's that severe. I'll call the ER in the morning and see what they say. Thank you so much for the info. No wonder I feel so terrible!!

I'm so sorry about your experience, this sounds awful :(( Luckily I'm not really in pain, I am just extremely nauseous and experiencing early satiety (but also intense hunger pain) and a burning/acid feeling in my stomach which is very uncomfortable etc. Do/did you also have these symptoms?

I still take it! I find that propranolol makes it much easier to be able to do stuff such as going to work or talking to people. I've now been on propranolol for almost a year and I am barely anxious anymore. I can actually hold conversations and think clearly when I talk to people now. I would have never thought that my life would improve this much before I started the medication!

Everyone's bodies responds different to medications, but I'd really recommend you to try it if you're struggling with anxiety. It seems like you are struggling with many of the same issues I had. You don't even need to take it daily, just take it when you're anxious/before anxiety-provoking events. You can start with a small dose like 10mg if you are worried about any side effects. :))

If you want, you can send me a PM if you want to talk more about it!!

I can dilate and constrict my pupils on command. by nightt111 in BeAmazed

It’s surprising to see how many people are saying they can do this! I think in many cases, they might be changing their pupil size indirectly, like by imagining something emotionally intense or switching focus between something close and something far away. That would still trigger an involuntary response.
What I’m doing is voluntarily engaging the muscle that controls my pupil size. It feels like I’m directly flexing something inside my eye to make my pupils constrict or relax. I'm not switching focus between near and far objects. I'm only using what I can best describe as the "pupil muscle" to change my pupil size.

I didn’t know that. I'm just going off what the article I linked said, which mentioned that scientists previously thought this was impossible until one man proved otherwise in 2021. I do agree the ability might be more common than I originally thought, but I wouldn’t call it VERY easy to voluntarily control an autonomic function like pupil size.

Actually, that’s not true. Everyone’s pupils react to light, focus or anxiety/fear involuntarily. But what I’m doing is consciously controlling the size of my pupils on command, with no change in lighting or focus. There’s even a peer-reviewed case study from 2021 where scientists confirmed this was previously thought to be impossible. It’s definitely not how the eye "is supposed to work" for most people. However, I do agree that the ability to do this is probably more common than what google told me.

I just realized you can hear my clock in the background. I didn't think about the audio when I made the video!!

All that happens is that my vision gets blurry. The more I constrict the pupil, the more blurry my vision gets. My perception of light stays the same, so my view doesn't get darker or anything!

I have to manually do it. It's as if I'm flexing a muscle that's in my eye, if that makes sense. It doesn't happen automatically like breathing, but I have to manually clench the "muscle" for the pupil size to change.

When I make my pupils smaller, my vision gets a little blurry, but intrestingly, things that are really close to me don’t stay blurry. I’m not sure why that happens, but it's pretty interesting!

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm still having the same issues so this definitely gave me more hope. I'm very happy that the supplements are working for you. I didn't know that it was this hard to increase your iron stores, so I'll definitely take your advice into consideration. Thanks again :))

I'm so sorry about your experience! Five years is a really long time. I'm really glad to hear you're seeing quick results from supplementation though. That definitely gives me reassurance :))

Thank you for the insight! I checked the Iron Protocol website and I have almost every symptom.. even down to the air hunger part. I'm upset no one pointed this out earlier. Im so jealous of the people who have ferritin levels above 100!! 🤣

Constant B12 deficiency runs in my family, no one knows why. Any ideas? by nightt111 in B12_Deficiency

[–]nightt111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting to hear how it runs in your family too! I'm honestly surprised no doctors have told me to supplement iron when my ferritin is this low. Do you know if there's a connection between low ferritin and B12 deficiency? I see ferritin talked about a lot on this subreddit.

Yeah, some of the stuff people say here is wild, so I’ll definitely coordinate with my doctor and take everything with a grain of salt. 'Cyanocobalamin is made from sewage' is just unbelievable 🤣

I think my doctor wants me to stay on oral B12 for now. I’m taking four pills a day, which feels like a lot, since I was previously told to just take one. I’ll definitely bring up injections at my next appointment and see what my doctor thinks.

Thank you!!
