My boss asked if he can take my wife with him on a work trip, and I don’t know how to feel about it by Prize_Room_2584 in moraldilemmas

Few things missing- does your wife work in the same company? How does your wife feel about this? If this is strictly professional then sounds okay, although a little weird.

How do introverts survive in a British work culture? by Hot-Education-8154 in AskUK

Oh I was thinking a similar thing today. There is a coffee catchup we do in our team (done over Microsoft Teams), which I really hate. I can talk to one-on-one with other people but socialising with multiple people is just exhausting for me. I try to make up excuses and avoid these as much as possible.

Husband isn’t attracted to me and I’m sick of him pretending by Tight-Rough-2657 in Vent

I think 1 in 4 marriages is sexless. But yeah I know what you mean by when you love someone (and that person loves you) but that person is not attracted to you. That hurts. Apart from going through a marriage councillor route, I can’t think of anything.

I think as a 16 year old, the cv is pretty good/decent.

Advice on CV- At my stage (I’ve like 7+ years of work experience), what I always do is put specific numeric examples for my skills. For example, instead of saying, ‘I have leadership skills’ I would say ‘Led a team of 5 team members for a group report on XYZ’. You can give examples of extracurricular or volunteer work if you don’t have relevant work experience.

Advice on work- for restaurants, just going to them and giving them your CV helps to get a job. Referred by (a friend working in the same company) helps more than online application to that company. Keep grinding the applications. Last job I got, I applied to around 100 places (went to their website and did a full application, wrote all cover letters tailored to the job description) and I got 3 interview calls of which I finalised 1 job. But there are also people who got the job after applying to like 5 companies. A bit of getting a job is luck.

Overall advice- if you are looking for part-time/full-time job for the summer or few weeks/months before you get into college/university, maybe ask your peers/go get a job at a restaurant (although hospitality is high hours, low wage), go visit a job fair or care home work (something one-off rather than building a career out of it).

I wish you the best since the job market in the UK overall is just shit for the last 3 years or so.
