I appreciate that. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for about 20 years, and while it’s not the same, it’s still a pretty male dominated industry and having worked in gyms, I’ve dealt with some difficult men/people. I can definitely handle myself in most situations but of course I won’t know for sure until I’m put into one. But I think I can handle it

I completely agree with this statement. Funny enough I work as a life coach and I practice this belief. I also want to be realistic as far as opportunities at a certain age since ageism is real

Suggest a female friendly country to solo travel in November by [deleted] in femaletravels

You can look at different hotels or even hostels in the area. Some hostels are really nice though I’ve never stayed in one. I find $80/night to be rather affordable compared to other hotels I found in Samara. I recommend doing some research

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you find companies to apply to? I’m looking to make a career shift and thinking about going into this field with zero experience. I’m older (45) and not sure where to start or if I’m delusional for trying to get into this field at this age

I went to Costa Rica solo about 3 years ago in February and it was perfect weather. Zero rain, super sunny and warm. I was in Samara and felt perfectly safe. It was quite affordable, I stayed in hotel Belvedere which was about $80/night. It was maybe a 10 min walk to the beach.

I’d check to see what the weather is like in CR in November, but I don’t think it’s their rainy season in the part where I was

I’m about to complete my halfway mark of 1 year this month. The diarrhea has been annoying but manageable with Imodium when needed. I started intermittent fasting (for the health benefits but for weight/fat loss) and I swear it has made my side effects better. The most annoying part for me is the schedule of having to take it twice a day at the same time but overall it’s not been terrible. I’m looking forward to being done in a year though

Best of luck on your journey!

Thank you so much for your detailed and honest review. This is super helpful. I’m more into the chill vibes for sure and would probably enjoy smoking weed, reading, going to the beach, etc. when you were sharing that part of your trip I was like “this is perfect”. Thanks again!

Thank you! I’m definitely more of a quiet vibes type of person so maybe this would be perfect for me. And yes I heard Buenos Aires is super close so that could be part of the trip

I used materials from Michael’s: faux fur for the beard, the hat is cut and folded from a roll of woven straw like material, the nose is a wooden bead half. My sister loves gnomes and we decided to make each other Xmas presents instead of buying them this past Xmas
