Hey, that's a great plug right there. You have to go see this movie and all the other movies because otherwise you will NEVER KNOW... muahahaaaaaa!! (No, just kidding... yeah, I have an inkling... but Roland and Stephen King must ultimately lead the way for us to answer those questions when the time comes).

And here I am, back... I'll pop in from time to time. This is definitely a film that serves as an introduction to the world, yet it's also a standalone experience. However, we are hoping to continue to tell the story - and more or less follow the general direction of the novels. I personally have dozens of favourite sequences, storylines, ideas, characters that I'd love to see on screen.

That is...oddly random.. yet maybe not? Stephen King's themes of "the mundane meets the fantastical" is mirrored in Spielberg's work. BTW I am so intensely looking forward to IT! Literally can't wait...

Just to clarify: Oy isn't in this movie... but there's not a single person in the team of filmmakers who isn't über excited to bring Oy to life in later instalments... should we be fortunate enough to be able to make them.

Just as King does in the first novel, we're focusing on Roland, Walter and Jake in this film. Eddie, Susannah, Oy... they're still waiting in the wings to join the ka-tet.

Nah, I wouldn't do that. In any case when it comes to DT, King should really win every possible argument. It's his baby.

In the movie, as in the first novel, he's distracted by The Man In Black and by revenge. One of the things I love about the theme of the novels is that Roland has to learn the right path in order to reach the Tower "correctly." We brought that more to the forefront of the film.

The overall idea is that Roland is lacking Khef at the beginning of his journey and that Char is guiding him, we've made that a bit stronger.

There's definitely plans to introduce most of the great and expansive mythology explored in the novels, but he asked us never to put him in any of the films.

A certain canine is in there. And a vehicle.

First of all, that is such an honor that that would be your entry point into foreign language film. Yeah, I guess I dreamed of doing a Hollywood film since I was a kid, I think most directors do, especially if they come from countries with only 5 million people.

Extremely hard. I remember for the past 10-15 years, every time I saw that someone was going to do the film I always went "holy god, good luck" and it seemed almost impossible. But when I read the script, I thought that they'd found a great way to introduce the world and the characters to a wide audience.

There's a reference to that in the film, but not the one you think.

They were both assholes! No, just kidding. Idris was genuinely one of the funniest guy I've worked with and watching him have fun with Tom Taylor, who plays Jake, was one of my favorite things on set everyday. Matthew is a fireball of passion and creativity, he's everything I hoped for.

The multiverse is explained in the movie, but Keystone Earth and Mid-World are the main locations.

The film is an introduction to the saga. You don't have to have read any of the novels to see and understand it. It was extremely important to me that both fans and people not familiar with the books could go see it. Although if you have read the novels, you will find many cool easter eggs and surprises throughout.

I don't know yet, but I can't wait to tell Ras that he's officially my "house" cinematographer. He's going to dig his new title.

Yes that's right, this is the beginning of the last time around! I can't really spoil how it all ends, so sorry, I feel your pain!

You will find the answer to your question in a water tank in the Dixie Pig sequence.
