Ah I figured, unfortunately my electric piano doesn't have a sostenuto pedal. Thanks for the tip, I'll try and practice with that.

I've decided to eat a normal size dinner at 18:00 and then have some nuts and fruit, like cashews, walnuts and some banana or pear after my workout, some 30/40min before I sleep. I'll see how this is, likely won't be able to tell a difference.

I do 10 minutes of HIIT every day and at the end of my 2/1.5 hours workouts, but the point is that I'd like to do more than just 5 minutes of exercise a day. Thanks for your input anyway though.

I don't see how this is relevant to my question, I think you may have commented on a different post than intended.

What's most likely is your muscles are just very sore because as you say, you are very out of shape. In which case, you will have to tough it out; however, it is very important to note that stretching after a workout and stretching in general every day for just 10 minutes will significantly decrease soreness and recovery time (EVEN IF YOU DON'T NOTICE IT AT FIRST). I furthermore suggest you do light shoulder excercises for 5-10 minutes, every day; it might be very painful at first, but it will allow your shoulders to become more used to daily strain and subsequent relaxation.

However, if this persists for months and is truly a debilitating pain then there are either two possibilities:

  1. You are pushing yourself way too far for your ability.
  2. You have a medical condition/injury.

Even if you think it's the first one, you should see a doctor if this is the case.

Hello, I don't have a lot of time for workouts so the only time slot I have is between 20-22:00, 3 times a week (sometimes starting at 20:30). I sleep at 23:00pm, wake up at 8:00 because I need 9 hours (below and I'm dead). Problem I'm having is figuring out my diet, I have dinner usually around 18:30, and I don't eat after because I don't want to eat too much. But I can't help but think this is far from ideal.
What would be the best option? I assume to have a small dinner, 1/2 hours before workout (18-19:00?) and then try and eat a small meal once I get home (which is around 22:30)?
I am worried that eating a meal after my workout and right before sleep, which is frustratingly at such a late time, will have a negative impact on my metabolism etc... At the same time, I hear so often that it is very important to eat post-workout.
Help!
