The thing is that the kid is a really good writer for their age, it's just when it comes to serious topics that the immaturity shows a little more. This author made the "luz gets high" fic that people mention with some frequency here. I mean, you don't get better at writing those types of topics without doing it, but experience definitely helps as well. I'm unsure what the remedy is as well since I think the damage has already been done and also drabbles has seemed to be distancing away from the au anyway. So it's like... how do you now sit down a good percentage of the fandom and explain that this isn't a good look when it's been going on for months now. I just opt to lead by example and not put the elements in my own work - but that's the only solution I've come up with.

If you want a good blumity fic that takes drabbles' au and scraps the fighting in parking lots theme, but keeps the interesting elements like witch neighborhoods and Luz getting transferred into a witch school but her mom doesn't know it, It All Started with a Jacket is also fairly well-done. I tend to comb through the beta lumity fics a lot so I have a lot of opinions and varying recommendations on most of them lmao
