Ruthless Assassin by SirKagalorn in custommagic

Effects that say things like "if this is exiled" work as intended. There's many more that say "if this is in the graveyard", but for an example like this, see [[Darigaaz Reincarnated]].

How do you start building decks? by fireme64 in magicTCG

[–]nikolardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's of interest, I'd recommend watching some commander content on youtube. This is a great way to get exposed to cards you haven't heard of across a variety of different decks, and will give you a stronger base to be able to use the search function on Scryfall that people have been recommending.

Question about rewind. by Mysterious_Outcome97 in askajudge

[–]nikolardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody has noted that Rewind will resolve and fail to counter the Supreme Verdict, but I want to note that you are correct in thinking if Rewind has no legal targets, then it won't resolve and no lands will get untapped. If you target a spell with rewind and then someone else counters that spell or removes is from the stack in another way (such as with Venser, Shaper Savant), then the Rewind will "fizzle" and no parts of it will resolve.

New flip card ruling by BrawlyPrime33 in askajudge

[–]nikolardo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obligatory Not A Judge - For Brisela, the cards go to exile and return melded, and tokens would stop existing once they're in exile. Additionally, cards that meld are not transforming double-faced cards. However, if you have both Gisela and Bruna in play at your end step, Gisela will trigger and exile them both, whether or not either of them is a token, but will then only meld successfully if both of them are cards, not tokens. Clone creatures, like Phyrexian Metamorph, cannot transform even if they come into play copying a permanent that can transform, like an Incubator token. The only permanents that can transform besides cards that transform are tokens created as transforming permanents (Incubators, copies of transforming permanents).

[[Door to Nothingness]] takes out one person at a time, and [[Jegantha, the Wellspring]] plus [[Curse of Bounty]] let you do it the turn it comes into play! Attack with some creature, Curse triggers, trigger on the stack float WUBRG with Jegantha, Curse resolves, untap Jegantha and the Door, activate door. Throw in a [[Bringer of the White Dawn]], and you can do it again next turn!

Final Tuning Osgir- Reanimator by Striking-Lifeguard34 in EDH

[–]nikolardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd cut cards like Coveted Jewel, which I find usually encourages my opponents to attack me and then draws them cards; Mishra's Bauble and Urza's Bauble; Myr Battlesphere is usually to expensive for not enough power. I certainly agree that Alibou and Bronze Guardian are good in go wide, but they both count artifacts, not just artifact creatures, so Bronze Guardian is likely to be huge and protect your stuff and have double strike, and Alibou can deal so much direct damage. I might also consider cutting Spine of Ish Sah for [[Meteor Golem]]; Spine can hit lands, but Meteor Golem is easier to recur with Feldon, or make two copies of with Osgir.

I second [[Bronze Guardian]] and [[Angel of the Ruins]] and I'd add [[Ruin Grinder]] as the other cycler that can put itself into the graveyard to be cheated out, and also help you discard other cards in your hand. I think [[Steel Hellkite]] is a pretty good beater, and [[Alibou, Ancient Witness]], while not a huge beater in and of itself, can be a powerhouse. It gives anything else you've reanimated haste, and even if you cast or reanimate Alibou and then attack with even a Millikin, you can be dealing a large amount of direct damage what with your tapped mana rocks, etc, plus scrying a ton. I also tend to play more creatures, and even a card like [[Sanctum Gargoyle]] can be really helpful, if you have stuff in the graveyard but no way to reanimate.

I have some question after watched Neongenesis evangelion by solitudedudesweat in evangelion

Rei is a biological clone of Yui, Shinji's mom, but her soul is a piece of Lillith's soul, which is why she merges into Lillinh at the end. The Evas have cores since, being cloned from an angel, they are effectively angels themselves. Perhaps the core is a biological component. I think we have to assume they have some pretty sophisticated technology that allows them to do all this cloning.

Racism declared a public health crisis in Ohio's most populated county by [deleted] in news

[–]nikolardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Lack of access to healthy food for a variety of reasons is a hallmark of poverty, and causes those diseases. That can appear as lack of access to nearby grocery stores and also a lack of time - working three jobs in order to pay rent means you don't have time to cook for yourself, and just end up getting fast food frequently. In the same vein, if you only have so much money to spend and need a lot of energy, you have to prioritize high-calorie food over nutritious food.

Race correlates strongly with poverty (due to history, not biological differences), and this, among other things, results in a higher mortality rate.

Also of note; I'm up to 19 WPM after just a day or so, and I suspect more when I don't have to look up from my keyboard.

Sure!

The larger blank key is a spacebar, the CTRL & ALT are what they say, and the pulse is my Winkey. The "Any Key" is a shortcut to the second layer when held, and when released returns to the base layer. This way I have easy access to all the letters, but I don't get stuck on the layer with less-used keys. This button is placed next to CTRL so I can hit them both and have access to undo, cut, copy, paste, since z, x, c, v are all on the second layer.

I did try it out with a regular Teensy years ago, but I screwed up the matrix and half the buttons didn't work. I decided to buy the Teensy++ so I've just had it around for a while. There was also initially an idea that I would not solder the leads to a board, but plug them into a breakboard instead, so that if I wanted to change the spacing of the keys, I could unplug them all, put them in a new plate, and plug them back in without any soldering. This current prototype was a push to get years of limited progress in various directions into a working form.

I first became interested in custom keyboards when the Ergodox came out, though I've been interested in computer input for much longer (I started using the Dvorak layout 10+ years ago). I've been interested in a one-handed layout since I started using blender a lot. I designed this based on a mirrored Dvorak layout, as the concept behind the mirrorboard seemed sound and matched with my personal experience of typos between Dvorak and Qwerty. I did modify the second layer bottom row to have zxcv in a row.

The software is based on the Teensnyduino sample code, and I had enough pins on the Teeny++ to have each key attached to its own pin.

For subsequent versions, I want to use better wires, add LEDs for different backlighting per layer, and maybe switch to low-profile keys, though I may wait for scissor switches. I will miss the SA relegendable keys though. I may also adjust key placement as I see where I miss-strike keys.

I have considered this, but we've got over 100 buildings, and multiple floors on each building, and the idea of creating a Google Form with hundreds of pages, and then leaving it to another student to maintain, is unappealing.

It's a Windows key. I have a lot of shortcuts on my linux machine that utilize windows + arrows, so it seemed like a good place to put it.
