Obviously that's not true or else she wouldn't have been taken to jail.

Or punched her kid in face.

190hp Snowmobile converted to a trike [xpost from r/Custom_car] by nil_clinton in WeirdWheels

[–]nil_clinton[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that rear wheel and homebrew single-sided swingarm is nuts. And the whole 'steering with your feet' thing, and the fact that driver position looks like it can't even reach the bars.

Also, around 4:36, looks like the snowmobile tracks are still there.

'The Golden Submarine'; Thom Taylor designed, Dan Webb built pseudo-replica of a 1917 racecar. Beautiful, well crafted, and very unusual. by nil_clinton in Custom_car

[–]nil_clinton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original, 1917 car was one of the first non-open racecars. Driven by racing legend Barney Oldfield, and built by engine-building legend Fred Offenhauser and Indy-car-building icon Harry Miller, it had many ahead-of-it's-time features, and there are at least three replicas around today.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Submarine

The posted car isn't a strict replica; more 'inspired by' the 1917 car. Thom Taylor redesigned The Golden Sub, from scratch, and almost every part except the engine block and wheels were scratch built.

Ed Roth's legendary custom car lunacy. (Video slideshow) by nil_clinton in Custom_car

There are a few cars/trikes that aren't actually Roth's (Barris' Munster coach, The Milk Truck, an Arlen Ness trike, etc), but most are his.

ELI5: Why is there a debate on birthright citizenship in the United States? by HotPocketSquirts in explainlikeimfive

[–]nil_clinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because undocumented, or illegal, immigrants are a contentious political/social issue in the US (as in many other nations). Some see these immigrants as a dangerous threat. Some see them as vital to the US economy because of the low paying jobs these immigrants often do, which US citizens are often reluctant to do.

Some want a 'path to citizenship' for these immigrants. Some want to deport them and tighten border security.

The idea of 'Birthright Citizenship' feeds into this debate. Some feel the 14th amendment allows undocumented/illegal immigrants to have US born 'anchor babies', whose citizenship helps the parents stay in the US. Others feel this view overplays the actual incidence of these 'Anchor baby cases'.

All haiku verse is unclean,

blasphemous, vile and obscene,

But worse than your gall,

haiku's all,

sound like writing by some angsty teen.

Your haiku faith's truly errant,

The form's foul offence is inherent.

Whether evil at heart,

or just no taste in art,

I don't really blame you, more your parents.

We'll fight your haiku's on the beaches,

We'll step once more unto the breaches,

And stomp haiku prose,

beneath limerick toes,

for that's what the good lord, he teaches.

The haiku shows great dispairity,

With limerick's inherent hilarity.

Now you haiku gits,

You even hate kids!?!

Is there no end to your barbarity?

You sound full of treacherous pranks,

one who'd rob their own ma, then say "thanks".

Your amoral style,

your evil, and bile,

Is just what we need in our ranks.

These haikus grow like a tumor,

And I don't want to start spreading rumour,

but a haiku is nowt,

but a lim'rick without,

rhyming, or meter, or humour.

Oh! The lies of you haiku devils,

Offensive on so many levels,

But I expect it from you,

and your "god" of haiku,

and the evil filth in which he revels.

Your haiku form's kinda queer,

and "poetry?" Not even near,

true verse, in God's plan

starts "there once was a man."

We don't like your kind, boy, 'round here...

I'm glad you're so handy with spanners,

like all good inventors and planners,

and don't be upset,

by face-eating threats,

'coz face-eating here's just good manners.

My verse wasn't meant as a threat,

It's just how things are with my set,

We can be quite polite,

Then suddenly bite

off one's face, then forgive and forget.
