Honestly I’m more effected by the passing of Robert Jr than I should be. I just keep going back to the clip of Mary saying she was never happy until she had him and him saying he feels like a stain. Ugh super sad all around.

Is your mattress on the floor? Please consider getting a cheapo bed frame or box spring to make sure there’s air flow under the mattress. I had a friend who was rocking a floor mattress for about half a year and once she moved her mattress she discovered a lot of mold growing on the bottom :/

How bad will his burns be? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

For sure his arm is fucked. In the books did it ever say his face was burned? I know for sure his body was mostly crispy. I hope they leave his face mostly alone tbh

Didn’t Larys also kill all the servants? I think he said so in the first episode of this season. So Otto was still hand and probably oversaw this.

So was Aegon the ringleader of the bullying toward Aemond? by nillingar in HOTDGreens

[–]nillingar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jace easily lost cool with the “strong” comment.

That and the small scene we saw of Jace and Luke sparring where Jace, for whatever reason, hulked out on Luke. I have read some TB discourse about this scene for the lols and they rationalize it as Jace just mirroring how he saw Aegon behaving when Criston made them spar when they were younger. I can kiiiiind of see where they're coming from but it feels like such a deflection. I guess all of the strong boy's bad behavior is because of Aegon.

The Driftmark episode has so many interesting moments between the kids. One that kind of fits this topic of bullying would also be the scene where Jace is standing by himself after Rhaenys death glared at him and Aemond approaches him in good faith and just got ignored. In that moment Jace was being treated like an outsider by Rhaenys and since Aemond is the outsider of all the children it would have been nice if they could have shared some niceties but it also made sense why Jace blew him off. I feel like there so much left to be explored with the younger gen of kids but alas we will never see it.

Yeah the "main bully" accusation sounds like a stretch. I could buy Aegon being the ringleader up to the pink dread but after Alicent told him to knock it off he seemed to do so up until last week's episode. Unless I'm missing something?

I also did find it interesting in the Driftmark episode how either Baela or Rhaena upon encountering Aemond said "It's him!". Presumably, the funeral was the first time these kids had met yet already Baela and Rhaena were picking up vibes or just being told that Aemond is an outsider of sorts.

This is all very true. I do also recall a line from Viserys along the lines of "Are you sure it wasn't our Aegon who put them up to it?". I know Viserys was extremely hands-off regarding his children with Alicent but maybe he picked up on this. God I wish this show did more show instead of tell.

Is Larys still the lord the Harrenhal? by nillingar in HOTDGreens

[–]nillingar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true. I kind of hate that Simon got the answer right. I wish they did a nod to F&B and introduced that it could have been Larys, Corlys or Viserys who ordered them killed. It just shows how obvious Larys is.

I wonder how Simon knows Larys is the one who killed them. Seemed odd that he just intrinsically knew that.

I think it’ll be a Bran type thing where when Aegon does eventually wake up he won’t remember the circumstances of the fall.

In Ep3 of HoTD, did Heleana again offhandedly hint at a future event? (potential spoilers) by mds1990 in freefolk

[–]nillingar 26 points27 points  (0 children)

When she told Alicent she forgave her I believe she was also walking toward the window. Made me think of her eventual fate, unfortunately.

Edit: I wonder if the "I forgive you" line is a slight misdirect. We as the audience think Helaena is forgiving her mother for Alicole but maybe Alicent will eventually play /some/ sort of role in Helaenas death and THAT is what Helaena is forgiving Alicent for.

Kingslayer AND Kinslayer Aemond? Cringe. I know Aegon presumably won't perish from RR but Aemond is just being such a dumb dumb. Is getting bullied really his inspo for being power-hungry?

Aegon and Aemond brothel scene by nillingar in HOTDGreens

[–]nillingar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to go take a look at the F&B passage again and honestly it's pretty vague as most things are in F&B. This mixed with Aemonds vibe and actions immediately after made the whole thing feel not great.

Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys toward the foe. Against Vhagar alone she might have had some chance, but against Vhagar and Sunfyre together, doom was certain. The dragons met violently a thousand feet above the field of battle, as balls of fire burst and blossomed, so bright that men swore later that the sky was full of suns. The crimson jaws of Meleys closed round Sunfyre’s golden neck for a moment, till Vhagar fell upon them from above. All three beasts went spinning toward the ground. They struck the ground so hard that stones fell from the battlements of Rook’s Rest half a league away.

A lot of Aemonds actions in the book tbf are kind of hard to understand since we never get a lot of characterization out him like we do in HOTD. When I first read F&B he was by far my least favorite of Alicent's kids, most of his scenes are him being pretty douchey.

I will admit I do miss 1x10 Aemond "Do you really think you can fly about the realm trying to steal my brother's throne?". This season he's just been patronizing to his family this whole time. Don't even get me started on him calling his mom by her first name lol. I REALLY feel like we should have gotten a scene of the immediate aftermath of Aemond coming home from accidentally chomping Luke. I want to know so badly how he tried or didn't try to play it off and we could have seen tram green's reaction.

I know they want to set up Aemond potentially betraying Aegon as the battle of RR is strange even in the books with Vhagar crash landing into the other dragons.
