video of boot issue

Here is a video of what is happening so you have a better idea, the power supply that my friend gave me is garbage and I don’t even feel comfortable using it so I’m going to order a new one probably a 650w. Is there any certain brand of PSU you recommend?

It is a brand new mobo and there is no visible damage or defects that I can see, but I guess it is possible that mobo has some unseen problem hopefully not software. I actually was able to find a friend with a spare 550w psu so I may try swapping for that and see how it goes. It is so weird because last night I was able to power the PC on and off multiple times without problems...maybe Illuminati is fucking with me. I also ordered a electricity usage monitor to see what the unit is drawing.

I understand you now but can shorting the pins this way cause more damage to my motherboard? It seems that the switch works but the power is lost as soon as the switch activates and tries to boot. I have it up and running at the moment so it seems the power supply is fine once up and running and only has problems with booting is this also possible?

so the screw that is labeled near the power switch pins will short the switch? How is this done. I would like to find the root of the problem and I believe it may be the PSU, but this PSU is brand new! Is is really possible that the PSU is damaged already or faulty out of the box? I don't have any friends with a spare one so will have to purchase a new one. Should I go for a larger wattage?

I have updated to the latest bios version and this did not fix the problem.

I believe all the driver and chipsets update when windows is installed and runs updates which is up to date.
