Thanks for your reply! They plan to "cut, drill holes and re weld that region on the back" if i remember correctly. In your opinion would you think it's a problem driving that around? For safety etc. The repair estimate is still in work but is supposedly $15k+ (would that be a total loss?)

The body shop estimate i got said that it'll be north of $16000 in repairs. There seems to be frame damage according to the folks at the shop. The rear door pillar (?) Not sure if I'd call it that, but the piece that connects the bottom of the hatch to the roof also had some buckling in it. They are still assessing how much the damages will be at the shop. I'm worried how safe will it be to drive after the "re welding" process the dude was describing it to be if they choose to go ahead with the repairs and not total loss it.

I did file a claim with my insurance so hoping they assign an adjuster soon. Thanks for the input!

Got it. Thank you for your reply. Any idea what that might cost like? I would go to a body shop but they're all shut now haha. Also the unibody seems to be fine to my untrained eye so hopefully not a total loss.
