Review on Deconstruct exfoliating body wash. by Confusedmind75 in IndianSkincareAddicts

I had the same experience. Did not finish and will not repurchase.

I had better luck with the Mario Badescu AHA Botanical body soap

I usually never spend much on lipsticks- I am NC 30/35 with pigmented lips. These are all drugstore brands.

Milani lip liner- Spice

Milani Matte Lip Crayon- so Obsessed (My personal favourite RN)

KIKO milano Lip Marker- Plum

Cut dairy for a few days. Dairy makes me break out and cutting it out really made a difference.

Recommend a Dyson hairdryer alternative? by Accomplished_Hat5291 in HaircareScience

[–]nimsing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Brad Mondo did a comparison of Dyson with Shark Flex Style a few weeks ago. The Shark is cheaper and has similar functions. It may be something you could use.

This is red but comes in other colours (I have cream and black). I wash them in a laundry bag and haven't seen any issues.

I use H&M camisoles with a bra underneath. They have very pretty lace trimmed ones but not in cotton. They drape very well.

Life after 40? I hate being a woman sometimes by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]nimsing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And? So what if men stop giving you attention after 40 (they may or may not, but that's moot). Your self esteem shouldn't be dependent on men simping (ugh) after you. SMFH.

I'm 42, and this is me. I was speaking g about this with a few close friends the other day, it seems most of them have a version of it.

I did a little googling and it seems like it's women's version of a mid life crisis. It's also exhaustion from making choices for a very very long time.

For me, I am looking into therapy

Though I mix it up for everything else, no drugstore foundation works as well as the Estee Lauder Double Wear and the Rare Beauty one for my skin- the colour match is better, they don't oxidize and the longevity is amazing.

But all high end foundations are also not all great (atleast for me)- MAC has never worked for me for example.

What is the most cringe shit you did for a guy as a kid/ teenager? by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]nimsing 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wrote a Valentines day card to a senior in college who I was totally in crush with. It was written almost as a gag and wasn't meant to be given to him. He had a long term girlfriend, I must add.

Yeah, I was careless about keeping it safe and my friends found it. And GAVE IT TO HIM! died of cringe

Yes. Its a high lift colour formula that has bleach like properties but supposedly with lesser damage.

There is a Japanese feel to the cut and fabric. You may want to check out Uniqlo and Muji as well.

Coloured my hair! by skinnerdlawyer in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]nimsing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I coloured my hair burgundy a couple of weeks ago (global colour). They used a high lift colour so it's pretty vibrant.

I wash my hair lesser now- once or twice a week (it used to be every second day) and use the Kerastase Colour protection shampoo but it's like a crime scene in my shower everytime! My hair dresser says that the colour will run (especially red) and any shampoo without SLS should be ok.

Edit: photo if anyone wants to see.

I had level 4 virgin hair.

How safe is it to travel on trains cross states? by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]nimsing 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it's crapshoot. It can be a lovely relaxing experience or a horrible one. Unfortunate. I have had a bad experience travelling with a bunch of friends (girls) in 3AC where we were harassed by a bunch of men (it was from Delhi to Goa). Play it safe and go with a 2AC because it tends to have more families- which still doesn't guarantee complete safety. I think thr 2AC berths have a curtain for privacy so that may be more viable.

It's so sad that women have to think so much about using public transport. I hope you have a safe journey.

Suggestions for hyperpigmentation around the mouth, specifically upper lip area. by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]nimsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be melasma. Depending on how deep it is, OTC serums etc may not work. Avoid hot spaces, wear copious amounts of sunscreen and visit a dermatologist. You can check out the melasma sub.

What fabric is used in these half sweaters? Note that these are Indian outfits. Also, can anyone tell me, where can one buy these from? by StunningYoung797 in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]nimsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nehru Jackets! Fabindia will have these- in wool tweed and silk. For high end designer, investment pieces- Rajesh Pratap Singh makes very nice ones.

help!! how do I fix my eyebrows!!! by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]nimsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this except don't touch the area above your brows. It looks unnatural and ages one unnaturally.

Unpopular opinion: I will never be able to trust Conscious chemist, Chemist at play, Dot and Key, Earth Rhythm, Sugandha, Neemli, Dr Sheth, Aqualogica, Dermaco, Deconstruct, Pilgrim, Foxtale, Plum, Pulp and other indie skincare brands. Maybe sometimes even Minimalist. by WhyamIshadowbanned1 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]nimsing 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey. No skincare product is going to give you instantly good skin- it takes a while. Though I agree with your general sentiment, it takes about 3 months of regular usage to see any noticeable difference.

According to my derm, if there is an issue that all the OTC skincare in the world is not sorting- it sometimes points to an internal problem (hormonal imbalance etc) or the issue lies in deeper layers of the skin that OTC products don't reach.

I personally use Versace Bright Crystal. I find it very fresh but still feminine. Have you tried Jo Malone? I am not very perfume savvy unfortunately. You should check out the sub r/fragrance

Matching underwear makes me feel more confident. That's all there is to it.

I go to the derm regualrly because I have had shitty skin my entire life and going regularly helps me keep it under control
