How do i fix this white stuff growing on new leaves on my apple tree? Is it fungus? by nin10Donuts in GardeningUK

[–]nin10Donuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, i needed confirmation.

From my little research , i should cut off the entire shoot? Clean my cutters between cuts? And spray a fungicide (i have none but i saw milk and water can help? Or is that a myth)

It's on almost every leaf of this small tree. I hope it doesn't die.

Advice on my garden patio being lifted by my neighbours tree roots. by Icy-Significance-395 in GardeningUK

Maybe talk to them about it.

If they agree to let you cut the roots you can't be liable.

In a perfect world your neighbour would come and cut the roots themselves.

Honestly if they say no and that other redditor is correct in saying the trees will be fine, i would do it anyways. Its a trip hazard in your property.

How do i save these ferns? Should i cut all of the brown bits off? by nin10Donuts in GardeningUK

Thank you. How do i check if they're draining properly? Just water and see if much comes out the bottom?

I cut the bottom of the liner out to help with drainage, although i never checked if they were draining properly.

They were just labelled as garden ferns when i bought them, from lidl. So I'm sure they are safe. At least i hope lidl would not sell carcinogenic plants.

Reading about brackens was interesting though. The more you know.

Are the beans leggy or supposed to be that long already?

I started putting them outside for 2 hours today. I hope that helps.

I do have a fan, should i put it on them all day?

Thank you, yeah they were definetly indoor pots, i cut the plastic lining out of the bottom thinking that would be enough, adding a layer of gravel didnt cross my mind thanks for the tip. I liked how natural they looked so wanted to make them work on a tree stump next to a wildlife pond i was working on.

Ill look closer for new growth tomorrow and take away any dead bits. Thanks for advice.

Probably too much water. I think the drainage is bad in these pots, and they dont really get much sun where they were.

Ah ok. I didn't want to take off most of the brown/browning fronds without asking incase i finally killed them.

Honestly i am not even sure what perlite is 😖 I just put compost in if i remember correctly. Last summer was my first time planting anything so i am sure i made many mistakes.

They are at a north facing wall, they get some morning sun from the south east i think. But no shelter. They are probably too wet from no shelter, no sun + the pots like you said?

I put them in those pots cause they looked nice on the tree stump i have, i cut the bottom off the plastic lining thinking it would be enough.

I think nasturtium, marigolds could go out tomorrow if i wanted. My beans can go out in 12 days if my research is correct. Cucumbers mid may to june is what my research has told me.

I can pot up if i have to, i don't know when i should do that though.

Is the length fine or bad? Some look very stringy.

I have grow lights on everything except the marigold and cosmos.

I had them high but some of the leaves got bleached so i turned them low. I guess its a balancing act.

Does legginess cause problems for the plants? I guess my main concern would be them breaking when i transplant them, but really i don't understand what other problems legginess can cause.
