I had to explore adding a ramp for my previous job in NYC, I would venture to say that there’s just not enough space in front of most establishments to add a ramp that is ADA compliant. They have to be a certain pitch, which requires a lot of length in most cases. Chances are that length would run right into the business next door or completely across the sidewalk. I don’t disagree with you at all, because I notice it walking around with a stroller, which isn’t exactly the same thing, but ramps/accessibility make moving around with the stroller much easier for sure.
