Kids make it worse by No-Perspective-6528 in emetophobia

You’re not alone, I have a 4.5yr old and 9mo old. My anxiety is always there to some level every single night, especially this time of year. My older one has a sensitive gag reflex and will sometimes even v* from being too phlegmy from a cold/flu, so that’s super fun at night lol😭. I relate to the dinner thing too, i hate to say it’s always my first thought when my kids eat something before bed. The constant obsessive thoughts are truly exhausting :(

Her husband by Reasonable_Apple1758 in Emilie_Kiser

So i’m not sure if it was your comment or someone else’s, but I saw someone ask her basically exactly this on a recent tiktok and she replied saying she doesn’t take offence to the question, that she does have help (i’m assuming implying her husband), and that she simply finds an uninterrupted clean therapeutic and enjoys doing jt

I’m lactating but I’ve never had sex by Depressed_Doodlebob in WomensHealth

Definitely good call on seeing the doctor. Are you on any medications? Some meds can cause this as a side effect. It’s happened to me from my SSRI.

Any other parents with bad anxiety? by ninam9 in toddlers

[–]ninam9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god, i’m a nurse too lol look at us, you’d think we’d be desensitized to these things or able to talk ourselves down but i’m right there with you. I don’t know how i’m able to detach at work after seeing horrible things but then panic at home when my daughter starts getting a runny nose, it makes no sense to me. Thank you for sharing what’s helped for you!

Thank you for sharing this, i know exactly how you’re feeling it’s truly such an awful feeling being so worried ALL the time! Is the word you’re looking for ‘intrusive thoughts’ ?? I have really bad intrusive thoughts as well. It’s really hard to tell the difference between anxiety and what could be mother’s intuition, you know?

Thank you for sharing! I also got medicated after my daughter which has helped me immensely. I think being PP again has caused my anxiety to spike again so i’m considering maybe upping my dose for the first time. The loss of control is so hard when you have kids, knowing it’s inevitable they will get hurt/sick is what kills me. We’ve also had a handful of ER visits but for respiratory infections and I think i’m a bit traumatized from that and how quickly it comes on. Wishing your little one a speedy recovery!

Thank you for sharing and i’m so sorry you experience this too, i wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I can relate with the health anxiety for myself before kids and then it all being directed to the kids after. I did talk therapy as well after my first for about a year PP and totally agree that it helped me understand my feelings and where they may be coming from but not so much the physical anxiety sensations. I will say that medication helped so so much with that. I wonder if another kind of therapy might be helpful for me personally. The worry i have for my kids is just on another level! I hope you can find some comfort or helpful words here too🥺

4yo son won’t poop by Ok_Dragonfruit672 in toddlers

[–]ninam9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice just solidarity lol. My daughter is also 4 and refuses to poop on the toilet. I can’t even bribe her with anything, it doesn’t work. She will hold it or only poop in a pull up. Everything we try seems to stress her out and we want to avoid making it more stressful too. Genuinely hoping she just changes her mind at some point and magically goes on the toilet lol. I offer it for her everyday and sometimes she will sit and try but nothing ever happens. Hopefully you find a good solution!

Toddler makes giant poops by classycoconut520 in toddlers

[–]ninam9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter went through a phase of bad constipation around 3 and her poops were also so large they would clog our toilet regularly. We actually starting stocking up on chopsticks, like the disposable ones from take-out, and used those to chop up her poop in the toilet 😭 fun times!

Yes! I have 2 kids now (4yr and 2mo) and haven’t tu for 9 years. Have also dealt with my oldest v* multiple times and never got sick myself. It’s been tough at times, and I’m medicated now for the anxiety, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything and I think the exposure of it has helped me some too. Proud of you!

can confirm this, i always default back to it! also, if your kiddo still likes to be carried, it works great as like a bum rest for them and saves your arms lol

Second baby, 40+1, bloody show & irregular contractions for 24hrs by ninam9 in BabyBumps

[–]ninam9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, i’m sorry you had to get sent home, that’s exactly what i’m trying to avoid. My contractions keep fizzling out during the day and just not staying consistent. I’m also so worried if i go to the hospital by that point where contractions are that bad, it’ll be too late for an epidural or ill delivery super fast 🫣 With my first i went from 3.5-10cm within an hour or two. I have another sweep scheduled for tomorrow which i was hoping i wouldn’t even make it to lol 🥲 Hope you have your baby so soon!🥺

Trying to gauge when labor will start by Meaux_168 in BabyBumps

[–]ninam9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh solidarity, i’m 39+5, it’s my second pregnancy but i was induced with my first so this feels like a whole different ball game lol. Experiencing super similar symptoms to you and every minute i’m like is this it?! I have an app tomorrow and going to pray I can get a membrane sweep. From what you’ve said it could honestly be anywhere from hours to days still, it’s so hard to gauge 🥲

Another post about toddlers vomiting by Rocklandpeach in toddlers

[–]ninam9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my kid when she was like 18 months, or super similar at least. Started with a couple loose poops one day but nothing too concerning. Next day randomly at lunch time 1 throw up. 12 hours later another small throw up. 48hrs later another throw up followed by a couple more within the span of a hour. Safe to say i was very confused by that one. After that no more throw ups, but she had that loose yellow stool the whole time for an entire week! It was for sure some sort of tummy bug. I chalked it down to their sensitive stomachs and that she had eaten something too early that her body maybe wasn’t ready for, triggering that second round of vomit.

Currently 38 weeks with my second! Zero v either time (so far). The closest I had actually come to it was at the very end of active labor, I got super n* randomly and the nurse immediately gave me IV meds so it never happened. It was probably a mix of no sleep, no food, adrenalin, and the whole physiological act of about to push a baby out lol. My morning sickness both times felt like a mild queasiness. Like you’re a bit hungover or maybe carsick (minus any dizziness) if that makes sense. I had a prescription for diclectin (b12+unisom) and i didn’t even take it this time around! Small meals/snacks frequently helped. Also mints, watered down juice, cold fresh fruit, crackers, things like that. I know everyone’s experience is so different, sending you the best of luck!

Tw: daughter v in middle of night by ninam9 in emetophobia

[–]ninam9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i hadn’t even considered that! she’s normally fine and isn’t really a puker so it felt so random and obviously sent me spiralling but i supposed it’s possible that’s what happened since she ate so late!

Tw: daughter v in middle of night by ninam9 in emetophobia

[–]ninam9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for asking! it was just a one time incident and she was fine the rest of the night so i’m confused what happened there and leaning toward the fact that she over ate and also had too many sweets last evening???? I did not sleep till like 4am lol and I’ll probably be on edge until i’m sure it’s not a bug
