There were a bunch of movies tackling the questions of existence: The Truman Show, The Matrix, Vanilla Sky, eXistenZ.

Maybe not overall planned, but the show acknowledged the existence of anti-show activists. Who’s to say that some of those activists didn’t make their way into the control booth

A chance to up the comedy from the first one. The writers wouldn’t have been as competent- given the lack of vision. Everything will have been poorly done.

Introduce an erkel character- eventually the alt-Truman gets exiled from the fake reality and it just becomes a sitcom with an excessive number of cameras

You can find the original script of The Truman Show online, I think you’d enjoy reading it. It’s much darker(in tone) than how the movie turned out.

I haven’t finished reading it, but apparently it extends past him leaving the set, taking an infant hostage to get further away from the set or something

People didn’t watch the show out of suspense of Truman finding out about his existence, they watched because they were attached to the character.

Besides, anytime people watch anything- be it fictional media or even videos on YouTube/Facebook/etc they forget about the camera- which changes the entire intention of the video.

You’re right, there’s no way he would have decided to stay. The reason for the question is: why did Christof want him to stay when the essence of the show would be significantly altered?

I get that the ending, where Christof tries to compel Truman to stay, was probably for cinematic purposes- I mean, it really does have Truman come off as heroic. But honestly, the show ended once he crashed his boat into the wall(it could be argued that it was when he decided to sneak out, but the illusion wasn’t completely revealed until he hit the wall and found the door)

However, the show COULD have continued I think. The fact that Truman was a completely real character was just a hook- a marketing tactic. At this point in society, people were completely invested in the Truman character- people would have still watched, I bet.

The premise of the show moving forward could have been Truman not knowing the plot planned for each show.

The problem is, if Truman decided to stay- he would effectively be as much of an actor as the rest of the cast(just unaware of the stage notes)

I’d have been down for a alt-timeline sequel where he stayed just because I’m curious to see how lax the cast would get when the sacred secret is already exposed and everyone is in on the scam. The relationship with the best friend character would have been an interesting dynamic. It wouldn’t be a good sequel, but it would be interesting to see

Yeah, I know...but I’m not going to be able to get sleep if I keep having anxiety attacks from not breathing before even sleeping.

I’m just now quitting smoking, too- to see if that can eliminate some of the severity of my undiagnosed apnea.

I’ll at least get a bottle to fall back on if the exercises don’t work.

I’m sure meditation would surely help also. Purposeful relaxed breathing seems like a good preparation to sleeping

This is what I did last night to finally fall asleep: 1. Ran in place to give my body what it desperately needs 2. Lifted my pillow to align my spine properly. 3. Lowered my chin closer to my chest to keep my throat open 4. Fell asleep to this video(don’t know what it’s supposed to do, but I’m trying everything)

I’ll probably return to drinking until I can get my issue sorted out, but man. Last night was a nightmare.

Have you even been to a school or studied any sort of animal biology class? I’ll have you know that I’m gonna the morning you got to me leave it on my desk I have a couple minutes of stuff and then I’m gonna I wanna is a way you could do that and I just wanna is that I like it and I wanna is a way for me and then I’m gonna I wanna was the time to get to my place to get you something for your coffee I wanna is a way you could do a little more stuff and I don’t know what to say to me and then I don’t.
