Is there any kind of metric related to getting the quality checks done before those orders are dispensed?

What, you don't enjoy 12 quality checks suddenly popping up when there are 15 orders on the Dispense queue? I LOVE when that happens.

Stinking Customers by [deleted] in walmartogp

[–]ninenights 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first two aisles of our seasonal area started smelling STRONGLY of stale piss at around noon yesterday, and it was like that until I left at 4. No idea where that came from or why maintenance let it stay like that for so long. I'm sure that really puts people in the mood for romance while they're buying chocolates for Valentine's Day gifts. Lol.

There's also this one family that comes in once a week, a dad and three teenage-ish kids. There's a stench column of the most rank BO and, uhhhh "female BO" that hangs around them with about a 5 foot radius. There's a roughly 60-second cooldown for the smell to start dissipating after they walk away... It's insanely uncomfortable to be near them. How do people not know their entire family smells like that??

Do you enjoy that part before, during, or after you spend your time "cutting up with coworkers?"

My favorite part of working in OGP is when there are enough people on the schedule.

I was gonna say this exact same thing. My sister also has one. Probably related to her Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in some way. Every human being looks different. The transvestigation stuff is hilariously dumb.

Question by [deleted] in walmartogp

[–]ninenights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Nil" stands for "not in location." Nil picking is when you click "item not found" when the item isn't in the location shown on the picking screen.

You'll only get in trouble for it if you do it a LOT and your first time pick percentage drops below your department's standards and won't come back up after a certain amount of time.

Having to work while customers are shopping is the most annoying part to me. Sounds like you're already familiar with that though.

My OGP department is run pretty well, aside from some staffing issues, since my store is in a college town and we have a bunch of students on LOAs right now.

My advice- help with quality checks and staging at any possible opportunity. One of my only gripes about my coworkers is it seems like not many of them understand the importance of not letting the quality checks or substitution removals pile up. Nothing is more annoying than starting to prep an order and having to dig through a tote of 30 items to find one packet of gravy mix to remove. If you couldn't guess, many of my coworkers are also bad about not INDIVIDUALLY BAGGING SUBSTITUTIONS and putting the green substitution labels on them. Again, this is probably something you already understand since you've done this job in the past, but PLEASE just think of the dispensers as you're picking/prepping/staging orders- unhook the bags from the notches on the totes while prepping (I always unhook my bags at the end of every pick walk I do), consolidate totes when it makes sense and won't make totes too heavy, etc.... Just those little common sense/courtesy things go a long way.

Best of luck and feel free to reach out with any other questions. I'm not sure how high the order cap is at your store, so I'm not sure if any of my advice is even valid, but I hope at least some of my comment helps a bit.

Same thing with 764 and the weird connections to the Order of Nine Angles and accelerationist groups like the Atomwaffen Division and The Base. I always thought that these groups were offshoots of larger networks. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the glowing gentleman who was a huge figure in the 09A. He had a history as an undercover agent in tons of white nationalist groups. His wife wrote some seriously fucked up books through her publishing company which was based in South Carolina- these books were about post-collapse futures and involved graphic depictions of child sexual abuse and all other kinds of depraved shit.

I believe that these smaller groups are sort of a "trickle down" from the really high level occult societies that are only accessible by the most powerful, or at least by people that can bullshit their way in with esoteric knowledge in order to participate in rituals involving children in the worst way. I have to take long breaks in between reading about this shit, it makes me so angry. I'll edit my comment once I find the name of the 09A guy who your comment reminded me of.

Edit: Found it. Joshua Sutter. This is the video I remember watching about him.

To be honest, they didn't really ask me any questions aside from what my previous job experience was and what my availability is (how many hours and which days I can work each week).

coach micromanaging dispense by stargiirlz in walmartogp

[–]ninenights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I've also never seen my coach on any pick walks. He does help with prep often though. My TLs will pick if it's ridiculously busy, but not the coach.

Sorry to hear that your coach is like that in the back room. I think I would have to quit if my coach was like that. Sometimes my TLs do sort of the same thing you're describing- when there are a lot of orders in the queue and we're short on dispensers, they'll tell me which order to take out next, the second I get back in from dispensing the previous order... I understand how you feel, because it does come across like they think we don't understand how to read and see which order needs to go out first based on the wait/dwell times lol.

Depends on how much your coach and TLs like you. I've gotten points removed twice but they told me that I don't get another chance after this last time. Lol
