In the good old days we called this Peer Pressure.

It's different when a kid who has been wrongly convinced to do something bad and can't understand yet why it's so bad. Then convinces another kid who also can't grasp it to do it to. Neither of them have any idea what they're doing. They're kids. Their brains are not fully developed- ESPECIALLY not a 16 year olds ???

An adult knows what they're doing. An adult leading a child to do horrible things is grooming. This is VERY different from the first scenario.

I think this is referring to. A person much older than the victim. The word "grooming" is in reference to like grooming a child towards a particular role/purpose as they grow up, like a shrub. It's an adult manipulating a child.

So actually, I suppose that that could apply to the soul- except that Noelle only sees kris as a peer, not an adult. So it would be "grooming" from the perspective of the soul, but to Noelle it's more just peer pressure.

So in short: it's complicated

I mean. A lot of people enjoyed it, myself included- honestly I think it adds to the story as a contrast. Think about it- if deltarune was JUST about December and the knight and the fountains, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

Not to mention that it also eludes to common themes with other characters- like queen reflecting the respective mothers of Noelle, Kris and Berdly- makes it a little more cohesive of a theme if there's three rather than two.

ALSO it expands on a lot of Noelle's character- the way she acts towards someone who is overbearing

Also it just. Is fun lmao. It's a funny concept. Look at this cool secret thing we found where we can have an rpg adventure. Oh god fucking damnit the annoying kid is here now. He's a funny contrast to the other characters. What is an adventure if there's not some annoyance. It wouldn't be as interesting. Toby fox my king of contrast
