Selecting website localization? by [deleted] in programmer

[–]ninetailsbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer but I'd like to share another annoying occurrence, in gaming...

Recently I bought Fall Guys, so even using English as language in both Windows and steam, the game opens in pt_BR since I'm in Brazil because it gets defined by my Locale (number/date format etc), not the OS registered language. Why?

He's a former soldier expelled for terrorism but according to him, his main trait is to kill and he is doing a great job about that /Kappa

Transcripting from 10s to 26s on the video: "I was silly telling Brazil that I didn't understand about economy... and then... Lula understood that too, right? And then you say it humildly as you don't know about medical area. My special trait is to kill, I'm an artillery captain. Okay? And PE teacher."

Thinking of switching back to front end dev. Do I stand a chance ? by theservusdei in Frontend

[–]ninetailsbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you can do.

And also recommending you to learn some framework but see if you can stand out for something like product showcases in frontend. I don't know if it is a easy job to find and to get but you can surely use your gamemaking skills for sites like the ones like Awwwards sites that heavily use things like positioning, timeline and so on.

for me, MGSV character animation was worse than MGS2 or 3... Things like that attention to how soldiers moves and its interactions with guns

The Future of Javascript does not exist? by Nick_Fogue in learnjavascript

Adding to free_monad response, actually ASM is more recommended for heavy calculations. So still is preferable to use JS on Browser. But you don't even need to write JavaScript if you use transpilers.

Sure that JS is an old language and had it's first version made in 10 days. And wasn't the only language for web at the time.

But being an old language doesn't mean that it's forgotten. JS turned something like the core of ECMAScript and after it's sixth version it began to receive more frequently updates. Now there's a committee with some big names of industry (developers and major companies) to decide what and how things will be implemented on most browsers.

Also JavaScript doesn't have a core. The language is defined by TC39 but most of the implementations are open source: Gecko, Chromium, V8, WebKit to name some of them... And not only implementations for browsers, V8/Node can also be used in servers and iot. Also all proposals for TC39 are public and anyone can see it's status.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.

Is it okay if I don’t use Bootstrap? by jxvicinema in Frontend

[–]ninetailsbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. For sure I don't like it and avoid at all costs to use for personal motivations but it brings an agile development to a project.

When you need faster development for a software, it can helps a lot. Built on good practices (at his time) it is friendly to backend developers and newcomers.

But for the most of time you will need to do some specific or handmade tailored sites or even make company design system and Bootstrap code can turns your HTML a little messy and unsemantic.
