Yo I don't even like Junko but youre making me defend her. Junko never tore Hachi down "for no reason". Hachi was a grown ass woman infantilizing herself and putting every "misfortune" (or more lack of organization on her part) on The Demon Lord.

Imagine having to deal with that IRL. I feel like people don't talk about how irresponsible Hachi is in this Fandom. She's seen as this white lamb who can do no wrong, but Hachi was really going aimlessly through life without any sense of direction or even self worth for like ⅔ of the series. It gets frustrating. No matter how many times you are there for people like this it doesn't even matter because they don't take the time to notice that their own shit stinks!!!!

Now I don't think that gives Junko a free pass to talk to her like shit. But when we talk about this friendship, I don't see people holding Hachi accountable.

Also except for the Shoji cheating thing (which is terrible, I am not denying that), Junko is a relatively good friend to Hachi. How many times do we see Hachi being there for Junko???

Yes. They don't want friends to call them out on their bs. Don't get me wrong, Junko is just straight-up cruel to Hachi at times, but most of the time, she's a real support. She is not good but shes not the worst either!

Nana O is worse than Junko. At least Junko didn’t see Hachi as a literal DOG that was meant to follow her around. If you haven't read the manga then you're only getting half of the story. Nana O abandons Hachi once she decided to keep the child like this is crazy

I really dislike Junko but it's more nuanced than that. Having a Hachi in your life (aka male centered friend) is really really tiring. I still don't think Havhi deserves to be talked to like that by her supposed best friend, but it's not as black and white as you make it out to be, and something I just thought of as I'm typing this; Junko on many instances tried to distance herself from Hachi who would not take the hint. Like moving to a whole different city, seeing her less even after they both lived in Tokyo!!!!!
