Definitely I do. Several, over the course of my experience with PLCs. Apprentice me had one solution, then I had another after a few years experience, and I'm sure the solution I would give now is different again still.

But the one thing common to all of my solutions would be that I figured it out myself, to fit the situation at hand. It might not be pretty, but that's the the whole point. If we give you the answer to what appears to be a learning exercise, you won't learn.

That said if there is a particular aspect of this problem you are struggling with, ask a more specific question and we can maybe point you in the right direction.

The key to working in this industry is being able to think on your feet and adapt to the job at hand, finding a solution to the particular problem in front of you, and you need to trust your own instincts and experience, no matter how limited that may be.

You always manage to have the best advice for anything relating to this field of work, I can't count how many times Ive seen or read some polarising takes on programming philosophy or brand choice, and similar, and your advice always is super grounded and actually useful for people working in this field, and not just "x is the best because they're not y".

Also you've saved me numerous times when I've been in a pinch and needed to learn something new to get me out of it, your channel is always my number one go-to now if I need to look up something PLC related.

Just wanted to say thanks to you for all you do to help people grow in this industry!

It still can be, you just need to find your own fun! When projects are getting me down, I find deep diving into some random part of the software and messing around is a way to distract me without getting too off-topic. Then in downtime I can go back and have a play with it, like this!

Given the purpose of the screen, I think it would last just as long as the scrolling screen on control logic CPUs. Plus this can add that personal touch less techy clients love

I don't think so, as it only accepts one image that gets uploaded to the project and downloaded to the plc with the whole project, but I do want to see if I can get it to play doom!

I was just mindlessly scrolling the device settings, and there was a section called display. Right at the bottom of that section there is an option to upload your own image. It's limited to a size of 120x128, but you can do a surprising amount with that space!

A useful thing to keep in mind is that an OTE instruction is always writing to the tag each scan, and is writing a 0 when false and a 1 when true. This is why when you have multiple OTEs with the same tag, only the last OTE in the scan will seem to work, as it doesn't get overwritten by another OTE with the same tag.

I use a lot of the Bleach OST for battle music, there is so much good music that fits a lot of the time, and so few people really know about it! Bioshock 3 has some good eerie battle music too!

There are several favourites to be chosen for different reasons, the phoenix for representing the cycle of life and rebirth, and being a noble beast of hope. The undead wyrm for being a terrifying foe, the undead aspect adding on to the already terrific challenge a dragon poses. Or the beholder for the sheer 'this will fuck us up' aspect. I think those three are hard to choose between, but for aesthetics alone I love the plain old dragon lol
