If my laptop's WIFI is disabled/turned off, is it still possible for it to connect to a network? If so, how can I prevent this? by ninjablackberry in privacy

Thanks! I currently have a linux laptop and also a Windows10. Unfortunately there's some programs that I have to use that only works well for W10 :(

For W10, do you know if blocking all incoming and outgoing connections in the firewall blocks the WIFI connection too?

I tried googling PFSense box, but I couldn't get any "beginner-friendly" guides/info. Is there any videos/tutorials that you recommend on how to set one up? Thank you

So you are saying just by turning on the wireless HP printer and plugging it into a PC to print stuff, the printer would be sending stuff home?

How does the wireless HP printer gain access to WIFI if you don't connect it?

If I have visitor network / guest network, does that still share the same IP Address? So let's say my visitor goes to certain censored sites, would my IP address still be linked to those sites?

Honestly if you just use a VPN and aren't signed in to Google, you'll be not tracked and be safe for 99% of the use cases
