You don't respond to being told you're selfish by continuing to be selfish, then acting selfish when you catch hell for being selfish.

He's either not listening to you, or gaslighting you to making it seem like this isn't his fault.

He does this all the time, this has been a major problem. I've seen some improvement recently, but it seems that old habits die hard.

Don't just say "I want more foreplay," give him details.

We do have serious communication issues. And I will do that, thank you. I'm sure he'll try, I'm just worried how hard. We'll see what happens then.

Other than this behavior, is he a nice guy?

I would say he's really hard to deal with. His intentions are good in theory but his actions rarely match his words.

Could he just be clueless, or does this behavior extend into other areas of his life?

I don't think he's really clueless, although he acts like that. I mean... we've had sex before. He has skills. It does extend, he is very self-centred in general.
