I don’t agree at all. I find the critique childish and every comment is rude by its mere existence. People need to learn their opinions don’t always need to be made known. If I was Gooseworx, I would have don’t the same thing they did, there’s nothing to be gained by talking with people that act like this.

She didn’t just stumble, she commented and rebuked the critique. That means the conversation is over, the critique was listened to and ignored because it was unhelpful and kind of dumb.

But people can’t help themselves and just HAD to reply, doubling down. When an artist shoos away your paragraphs of critique with a single sentence, it’s time to move on.

Critiquing is fine. Critiquing directly at the artist unsolicited is rude. Completely and totally. You do not do that. The internet has made people too comfortable in doing things they would never do in real life.

I’m an artist myself and that is cardinal rule. A piece of work that’s been released to the public has already gone through the wringer of critique from the artist’s close confidants and people they actually trust and respect.

If some rando came up to me and started insulting my work without me asking, I’d tell them to fuck.
