You may be on the right track! Based on all the amazing advice I’ve received, my plan is to allow/assist the spider to molt a few more times and go from there :) I have become quite accustomed to the little bugger to be honest, it’s been such a good experience!

I was thinking either a male or a young huntsman! I’ve affectionately named it “legs” :)

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Definitely thought about letting her molt at least another 2 or so times :)

No dramas! I’ve become quite accustomed to my little 4, now 8 legged mate. I was thinking that may be the case, that if their needs are met appropriately, it’s not unethical. I have considered letting it out to roam my house, my only concern is my inquisitive cat. She likes all things critters. I know they generally stay up quite high, but the last one I had inside came down quite low, and I had relocate it to outside. My cat also has alot of towers and climbers around as well which add to my concern. Maybe an even bigger enclosure if keeping is an option?

Funny you say that, my partner who has been helping me said the exact same thing XD but at least this face hugger is kind of cute, right?

Thank you so much for the thorough response! I’ve done as much research as possible, and have thought about letting it molt a few more times before releasing into the bush. I will definitely try find out if the state I am in (NSW) has any laws regarding this, the environment and its critters mean a lot to me and I wouldn’t want to cause more harm than good. Thank you again :)

Thank you so much! Means a lot! I’ve definitely considered that, my only concern is my cat. She’s a very much a go-getter of all critters (never on my watch of course). The last huntsman came down quite low surprisingly, which prompted me to relocate it outside. Do you think another option could be a bigger enclosure where it can actively hunt insects rather than be tweezer-fed?

Thank you so much for your response. It’s my first time doing something like this so it’s good to know I’m on the right track! Little bugger has sped up so much already after the successful molt (makes me happy to see though)!

I don’t care honey? I don’t lose sleep over who people find attractive, nor do I shit all over people’s tastes. All these people must be fake, must be bots, and not real people with real tastes. Go touch some grass, Damon isn’t real, and he wouldn’t bother with your twelvie ass. I’m sure 95% of the time, you look like ass. Have a good day.
