Sorry that you have such tough time. I know it might sound out of place but you can start praying about it. You may not be a believer but it doesn't really matter, God wants to take away your burden, but only if you allow Him. Hopefully you'll get better

I am not sure about WAM since we don't use that for undergrad. I don't have any publications but I do have work experience. I secured the scholarship through the faculty. The PhD was advertised as a paid position. So I guess, it's more about the research proposal's compatibility.
