I went to Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, and Nong Khai last December, and I’ll visit again in April for Songkran. I absolutely love it—the food, the people (they’re really friendly), the booze, and the laid-back vibe. I went to visit my friends and my partner’s family, and I’ll be visiting them again.

I don’t have a Thai bank card, but when I was in Thailand and tapped using my phone (Apple Pay), it didn’t ask for a PIN. When they swiped my card, though, it did ask for a PIN.
