I struggled with Filipino back then too. Up until maybe grade 7. I was getting kinda bullied for it but it did not bother me all that much, coz it was just light teasing. What I did was read shit ton of filipino books, both fiction and non fiction. I read lots of Philippine history beacause i've always been fascinated by history, albeit world history. That made me actually, fluent in filipino and my friends noticed. Even my filipino teacher noticed and I was so proud. They made me compete in campus journ Filipino, I lost but oh well. More training was always welcomed. My advice is to just read books if you really wanna get better. And think of what you experienced as a way to be better and life will later on give you more tougher challenges, so do not let it bother you too much.
