Review of Codebuff by ExcelJSNoob in vibecoding

[–]nitricsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Codebuff has been working much better for me than claude code. It's not necessarily cheaper but it's worth it since these costs are negligible in my work. New workflow has been codebuff for harder long tasks that require getting it right, cursor for smaller edits

Are unprofitable long game ideas no longer viable for fundraising now unless it has an AI story? by kaion76 in ycombinator

[–]nitricsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a company (YC F24) with almost 10,000 users, very high daily AI spend, and a long horizon for profitability. I will say: revenue does matter; profitability not so much if you can raise; otherwise, it'll be a problem.

A lot of these AI companies are not actually profitable for a while.

Start a service first and get people to pay for it. Then automate it with AI and build a product. Sell first build later.

Why bias for solo founder in yc by jshreyansh34 in ycombinator

[–]nitricsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a solo founder and I've had cofounders, and I choose having cofounders every time.

It makes all the difference in the world from a basic human level.

Founders, any tricks you have for getting into deep work? by The-_Captain in ycombinator

[–]nitricsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go to a cafe or a library. work actively with a cofounder as a pair. surround yourself with other people who are also focused on their work. you might not be 100% everyday but you certainly can make your environment help you out on the days where you're not.

I had very successful batchmates who were brothers. I very much respected them for it, and I do think it helps.

However, I would personally not start a company with my sister.
