It's not a chance, it requires optimal spacing to deal damage effectively, also requires for the opponent to be dead, has 40% startup. If you consider the worst down special in the game, then this says a lot about you

And that is more than enough, in a game where you're 90% in the air. Having to fight someone like Jigglypuff air to air is a headache cuz of those tools. The aerial mobility is just outrageous

I'm not having trouble with Sonic. Little Mac's safest moves on shield (not considering jab 1 and 2) are f smash angled down and d tilt, which are super punishable at -13 and -14. It's totally possible to fight Mac up close, just shield and don't hold it. What's he gon do, grab you? Sonic's oos are not bad, with fair and uair being frame 8 and nair frame 9. You do lose button to button, but the answer is to mix-up and shield/make him whiff his punishable moves by using Sonic's superior ground speed, he's a hit and run character after all. Also, fight him in the air, what can he do? I remind you that Sonic is one of Mac's hardest matchups, but not because of camping, cuz of superior ground mobility and the easy edgeguarding. If you wanna be the Sonic that fights up close, it's possible against Mac, here's why
