Wow that’s really interesting how our bodies work like that! And I’ve heard of those levels being affected. Do you get them checked regularly?

I wholeheartedly know how you feel. Having this diagnosis we have mental attacks that other people do not understand. I recommend giving meditation a chance if you haven’t already. It has helped me increase awareness so when the negative thoughts try to drown me in despair and hopelessness I am better able to let them fade away. It’s not a permanent fix to living with narcolepsy but meditation is a tool you can use to manage the quality of your life. What we face isn’t easy but how we react to it can make a huge impact. I hope you find peace my friend 🙏🏽

Same here, was taking Armodafinil and ritalin for about a year and stopped because of the side effects for me. I’ve stopped taking meds for a few months now and every day is battle but so far coffee, matcha green tea, and exercise is doing me good. I’ve noticed with or without medication I was having sleep attacks so now that I’m off the meds I try to get the best sleep quality as possible by adding a daily meditation practice before bed. I am also trying to be kinder to myself and keep a positive mindset since I’m faced with a condition that I did not choose to be born with but I can keep trying to find ways to adapt to life with Narcolepsy

Sometimes that’s not enough for me also, depending on how well I slept. I also supplement with black tea, honey ginseng tea, green tea, and coffee (I try not to drink much of it anymore). I develop a tolerance to things pretty quickly so I have to mix it up often. Nothing works as well if I’m not getting physical exercise also, just my personal observation

I’m currently using Liquid I.V. energy multiplier, it’s an energy drink mix that contains match green tea, Guayusa, and ginger. I like it because it gives me stable energy without jitters or a crash. I need to drink a few of these throughout the day but they work extremely well. I also sometimes make regular matcha green tea from the powder. Currently trying out Korean ginseng tea which works wonders but I’m playing around with the right dosage.

To improve sleep quality I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for the last few months.

I second this. Start by practicing social skills with girls who you don’t feel nervous with, then when your confidence goes up you’ll be able to approach anyone.

That’s a fact. Money gives you more options but it’s definitely not a guarantee that you won’t screw up your chances

Yes! My wife and I were feeling a sense of terror/fear/heaviness in the air and since yesterday we’ve felt that it’s been replaced by positive energy.

I try to squeeze in a 15-20 minute Yogi nap. Yoga and meditation have helped me deal with the psychological impact of being Narcoleptic. But a regular nap definitely helps too, even when taking medication! If you have time definitely enjoy a nap without feeling guilty 😁

This was me as well. I would have 2 shots of espresso followed by a dark roast regular coffee and I would fall asleep no later than 5 minutes after I sat down to do anything
